Chapter Three

Finally the Japanese project will begin in couple of days, Mr. Yang came to New York and signed the contract, and this step really pushes the company far ahead from any other construction company. Japan's project is the fruit of Kevin's hard work and travels to Tokyo.

As the news spread, the board decided to go out and celebrate this achievement. I went straight from work so I needed to freshen up a little bit in my office. Thank God I was wearing a casual black dress with my favorite shiny black shoes.

When I arrived to this fancy restaurant I pulled out of my car and gave it to a valet. I heard the roar of a sports car; I turned my head to the sound and saw a fabulous convertible black Camaro. I cannot hide my weak point towards sports cars and convertible ones. As the doors slid up I saw Kevin Jacobs going out of it and his eyes were immediately locked with mine.

I waited for him to give the car to the valet as he walked towards me and said in an amused tone "I think we have kind of the same taste in cars Ms. Crown don't we?"

I smiled showing my white teeth saying "My only weakness in life is convertible cars and sports one, and if they're combined that would be perfectness!"

Once again I traced a shadow of a smile on his lips. "I am sure we can find another weakness in you" he teased as he gestured with his hand for me to enter the restaurant.

We were the youngest of the board and when they saw us coming in together I noticed some amused looks and heard Ely who is soon to retire saying "Oh the young are here and they came together, is there something we should know about? You know Kevin; we are the board we should approve on anything in this company."

Kevin ignored Ely's tease while my cheeks turned as red as the wine poured in the glasses, as the rest laughed. I decided to ignore this comment as Kevin did. I took off my coat and turned to give it to the waiter when Kevin took it from me and gave it himself to the waiter along with his coat. Then he pulled me a chair and asked me to take a seat, I sat as I thanked him and noticed 6 pairs of eyes following each move we did.

I must say i was surprised by Kevin's actions more than the board members. I even got more surprised when he started talking to me so casually, so carefree. He seemed amused especially that he refused to talk business and focused on celebrating and drinking the finest champagne and wine.

"Make sure you are eating well Ms. Crown, the coming days need your full energy". He whispered in my ear.

"Are you worried about my health Mr. Jacobs or about your company?" I asked him not knowing where I got the nerves from.

This man definitely intimidates but I think the solution is in a couple of wine glasses. I saw half a smile on his face; his eyes were shining and definitely smiling. He did not comment but his look said a lot as he kept staring at me for a little longer. His looks are meaningful and he surely communicates with his eyes more than with words. When we were about to leave Kevin brought our coats and being the gentleman he was during the dinner, he helped me wearing the coat. Now I'm sure the rest of the board members things of something going on between us.

"Ms. Crown, I think you should leave your car here, one of my drivers will bring it to you later and i will drive you home". He said as he we were waiting for our cars.

I cannot believe what's happening! He just asked me to go with him. Every inch in my body says yes to this offer but my brain says NO. There is nothing i want more than being with him, casually especially after the interest he showed tonight, but I knew that somewhere this is not the ideal way to deal with my boss, the CEO/owner of the company I work for.

"Thank you sir, but my house is only a few minutes away and I'm used to driving alone at night". I rejected his offer knowing i will regret it as soon as the words will come out of my mouth.

"Good night then, drive safe." He said while getting in his car with his usual unreadable expression.
As soon as I got in my car, I rested my head on my seat and blamed my brain for rejecting this golden offer.

hey guys, i know this might be short but i am updating every day. Don't forget to commment and vote :)
