"Wow, a gazebo. You really do know how to lay on the charm, don't you?" I laughed.
"What did you expect? You're practically dating an old man." He laughed too.
"Dating?" I paused. Then he pulled me into a slow dance.
"C'mon Sarah. You and I both know that we like each other, or have feelings for each other some how."
I couldn't help but smile, but that smile and happy moment was ruined just a moment later.
"Trevor! What are you doing out here! And with Sarah?!" Miranda was crossing her arms because of the chilly night air.
"Miranda, I thought you were getting some punch?"
"Oh like that takes 10 minutes!"
Then another girl appeared. This girl had on a black dress with what looked to be 9 inch heels. "Miranda, darling is something wrong?" the girl asked.
"Eve! What are you doing here?" Trevor asked.
"Well, first I'm enjoying the dance of course! It's only the 50th one I've been to! But I'm also here for the same reason you are, to find out if Miranda's powers do truly exist."
"Powers? Okay lady you must've spiked the punch or something because "powers" or "magic" don't exist."
"Oh yes they do. Miranda you were yelling at Trevor earlier..."
"Stop it Eve." Trevor glared.
"Miranda take those feelings of when you saw Trevor dancing with Sarah and turn them into a sensation in your hands."
"That's enough Eve!" Trevor yelled as he stepped between me and Miranda, a human shield.
"Do you feel that sensation Miranda?"
"Yes."
"Good. Now push it out with all your strength!"
"Miranda, take a breath. We can talk about this." Trevor said calmly.
"About what?" There's nothing to talk about. Clearly, you have feelings for Sarah. I should've known. She does this a lot you know. Sabotage. Stabbing people in the back."
"Miranda I would never do anything to hurt you!"
"Yeah, right."
Then a burst of wind carried Trevor and I back against the poles of the gazebo.

"Well I guess she has powers." Trevor grimaced, and I rolled my eyes. But when I looked back up Miranda was staring at her hands.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. I..."
"You expressed your emotions. It's called free of will Miranda. You shouldn't feel bad about it."
"Yes I should. And you...you stay away from me!"
"Woah, don't go using all of your witchy jew-jew magic on me." She put her hands up defensively.
"Who are you?" I finally asked.
"Eve. My last name you'll find out soon enough." She stalked over towards me. "I do know you though. You're Trevor's newest pet. Sarah Johnston. They were right about you." She grabbed a hold of my arm, I tried to pull away but couldn't.
"They?"
"The Protectors. They can predict the future. They predicted you. And I can sense that you have an amazing, bright future ahead of you with a hint of darkness."
Trevor came over and pulled her off of me.
"Wow. I was just trying to make a new friend."
"Knowing you that means that someone has to get hurt in order for that to happen." Trevor replied.
"Oh c'mon Trevor we used to be the best of friends. Don't you remember that one time we went to Madison Square Garden and got so..."
"No because I don't want to remember."
"Fine. I'm starting to feel like I'm not wanted here anyway." Then in a flash she left.
"Was she a..." I started.
"No she's something a whole lot worse. A vampire."
When we got back to my house, Trevor walked me up to my front door. I turned to face him.
"This is the part when I'm supposed to say I had a good time tonight."
"Well did you?" He reached out for my hands.
"Is it odd to say that I did?" I looked up into his eyes.
"Not at all." He let go of my hands and starting walking towards his car.
"Trevor wait." He turned around looking confused as I ran down my porch steps, leaped up, and kissed him.
"I had a good time tonight too." he smirked, then continued kissing me.
