**Miranda's picture ^^^**
Trevor and I held hands as we walked to school together the next day.
"I can't believe that Eve chick last night though. Who does she think she is, coming in and scaring Miranda like that?"
"I don't know but it looks like she's moving in."
"What?" I walked up to the moving trailer parked 3 houses down from mine. I looked into the trailer to see Eve mid-deep in boxes full of fragile items. "What are you doing here?"
Eve turned around. "Oh, hey girl! Mind helping me with the rest of these boxes?" She jumped out of the trailer and wiped the dust off her hands. "Maybe Trevor could help too. Then you can see how strong he really is." She smirked.
"What are you really doing here Eve? We both know that you're not the moving in type of girl."
"I don't know. There's just something about this town that's so cute and quaint. Plus I've already met the neighbors and they sure look tasty."
I turned white all of a sudden.
"Sorry, I forgot you are human. I'll probably save your family for last. If you stay out of my way."
I stepped forward. "Are you threatening me?"
"No actually I'm threatening your family."
"Alright, that's enough Eve."
"Well I assume you didn't come to bring your new neighbor a pie, so I suggest you scurry off to school."
Trevor and I turned to leave.
"Maybe we can all sit at the same lunch table."
"Aren't you a little old to be in high school?" I asked.
"Aren't you a little young to be with Trevor?" she retorted.
"C'mon Sarah, let's go."
"See ya." She waved.
When I arrived at my first period English class I immediately headed toward where Miranda was sitting. "Hey."
She turned to look out the window.
"Miranda, I'm sorry. That was a real jerk move last night, dancing with your date. I totally broke the number one girlfriend rule, and believe me when I say that I would do anything to make you feel happy again.
"Anything?" Miranda turned back to face me.
"Anything."
She stood up and motioned for me to meet her out in the hallway.
"Can you contact that girl from last night?"
"Eve? Why? Why do you want to talk to her? She's a conniving liar!"
"Because she's the only person I feel comfortable with talking to about being a witch."
"So that's what you're calling yourself now? A witch?"
"Well what else am I supposed to call a person with magical powers?"
"I don't know, but you are not talking to Eve. She's dangerous."
"No, she's trying to help. Unlike you."
And with that she walked back into the classroom.
"Now I've been called dangerous, pathetic, and a filthy dirt bag but a conniving liar, that's new."
I turned around and Eve was standing right behind me.
"Leave the BFF talk to me, would you?" then Eve walked into my English classroom.
"So she wants Eve to help her?" Trevor asked.
"Apparently and there's nothing I can do about it either. Believe me I've already tried." I said as Trevor and I sat down together at lunch.
"Well does Miranda know who Eve really is or what she is?" Trevor asked.
"No and I don't want her to know either." I replied.
"Hey y'all. Is this seat taken?" Eve said as she pulled out a chair next to Trevor.
"Let me guess, your fake backstory is a sweet, innocent girl from Tennessee who moved to New York, hoping one day to become famous for her southern, country songs?" Trevor asked.
"Aww, you think I'm sweet, but no. I didn't have to come up with a fake backstory. I used a real one." she took a sip from a plastic sports bottle she brought with her. I was eyeballing her the whole time. "Oh, yeah about this," she raised her bottle, "it came from that snotty, blonde cheerleader over there." She pointed at the most popular girl in school. "She really needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut."
Deciding to change the subject I asked a very important question, "So what is your backstory?"
"You mean how I became a vampire?"
Trevor and I exchanged glances.
"Well it was quite a long time ago, back when I lived in Egypt. My family and I were the richest people in the country. But back then being wealthy came with a price. My mother was killed on her way to an ancient Egyptian ceremony, and my father was murdered by an intruder in our palace. My sister was then put in the position of being queen, even though she wasn't good at it. Between her endless number of parties and boyfriends we ended up broke. 'Til one of her boyfriends brought home the most valuable possession ever, the Wolf Gene. The thing that started the revolution of werewolves. I knew how much damage the Gene could cause, so I stole it. And believe me I ran as far as I could but was no match for the army she turned against me. At the very end she told me how she could be with her boyfriend Telanthrope forever as long as he drank the Gene, and we could become rich again. She said she would make sure that her and I would live together forever, but I didn't listen and tossed the Gene off our palace balcony, into the river below. That's when she had me killed. Luckily I was a nicer person back then to all of my servants, and one turned me. I've tried looking for the Gene for lifetimes but can't find it. That's when I heard from the rumor mill that my sister came to the U.S. right here in Buffalo, New York.
"Wait, your sister is Cleopatra?" I asked.
"Yes, and Ted is her "wolfey boyfriend.""
"So I am somehow related to Ted?" Trevor finally asked.
"And my sister and hundreds of other werewolves around the world." Eve replied.
"And you're telling people this story?" I asked.
"No. Well yes but to only find Cleopatra. And that blonde one ticked me off just a little when she ignored me and instead called me a low life."
"Why do you need to find her?" I asked.
"That's where you didn't let me finish the story. I need to find her because a witch in France told me that she had a second Wolf Gene made so she could create an even bigger population. That's why I need to stop her."
I looked at Trevor, and he nodded, "I think we might know where she is."
