We Finally Meet
I walked staring daggers into this guy Blake’s back. I don’t know why I did but I felt so angry with him. As if he knew I was staring at him he perked up saying “So what’s your name blood sucker?” “It is Edaniel.” I replied. “That’s cool I guess. Sounds like Daniel a lot, you just added the E in front of It.” he laughed. I gritted my teeth. Was he making fun of my name or something? I looked back to look at him but my eyes couldn’t help but look at Charlotte instead. She was sitting quietly in her seat.
“Charlotte…” I called and she looked up at me. “Where are we to go?”
“Verande’s… no my old house. We need to go there.” She replied sounding hesitant.
“Yes, Miss Charlotte.” I replied. I had to use formalities again, I didn’t know if this wolf would care or not but he looked a bit concerned. Then it hit me… maybe he did care. After all, she was his mate. “Who’s Verande…? Charlotte?” I asked without using any formalities. Blake looked up and growled a little. I laughed inwardly to myself. This was going to be enjoyable. I grabbed Charlotte’s hand and led her to the car and grinned. This is going to be amazing! Watch it blood sucker… Blake threatened in my head. I thought I was going crazy but once I looked at Blake, his eyes were glowing like embers in the night. I stuck my tongue out at him and laughed while Charlotte stood there confused.
“I don’t know why, Edaniel, but I feel we need Verande at the house with us…” Charlotte spoke. I looked at her and gave her a smile. “Whatever you say.” I replied and smiled softly as I brought my lips to her forehead. I looked in the corner of my eye to see Blake raging with anger. Charlotte shoved me away from her and walked on, but before she turned to do so, I saw a tinge of red crawling up her neck. Damn, she looked so cute. I turned away from Blake and walked with her out the alley. “Hey!” Blake called and I turned around. “I kind of need clothes!” he yelled as he motioned at his naked body. I sigh and threw my suit jacket at him. “Wear this for the time being.” I replied. I turn around and walk away when he mutters a thank you.
Blake’s POV
“Thanks…” ugh… Just saying that made me feels like shit… This guy all over my mate! He’s gonna pay. I slip my arms into the sleeves and button up the jacket. I look down and sigh. It doesn’t fit to the point where it covers me all the way down. “Oh fuck this.” I yell to myself and shift. I grab the suit jacket with my mouth and run towards Charlotte and Edaniel. “Hey Blake,” Charlotte says. I look up at her and she smiles. I look away from her and keep walking to their car.
Finally, we were on the road and stopped by a store to get clothes for me. I was really wondering who this Verande was now… Was she my mate’s best friend or sister? I paused in my thoughts. Shit! Charlotte isn’t my official mate yet! Yeah I bit her hand and all but that didn’t do it, it just told my wolf that she was mine. Interrupting my thoughts Charlottes says “We’re here.” I look out the window of the metallic white car to look at the house……. castle? I open the door to get out and wait for Edaniel to open the door for Charlotte.
When they start walking towards the house, I see smoke surrounding behind Charlotte and almost instantly, a guy walks out of it. Amazed I open my mouth speechless. But immediately feel stupid, she’s a Silhouette too. Obviously she’s gonna have a wolf to follow her around. Suddenly a woman walks out after the guy and I really am confused now. Two wolves? I shook my head, no, it’s basically impossible. I sped-walked towards them and finally I was walking beside Charlotte. I touch her arm slightly and she looks at me. “Yes?” she asks. “Who are they?” I ask as I point towards the guy and girl that materialized from the smoke. “Hm? Oh them? They’re my wolves.” She says and walks onto the porch. I walk onto it with her. “You do realize that there’s no possible way that you could’ve had two, right?” I ask.
She turned around and looked at me confused before knocking the door. “No I didn’t realize, but it doesn’t matter at the moment. Let’s hurry up and knock on the door ‘Kay?” she responded and immediately she turned and knocked on the door. You could hear the latches of many locks quickly being opened and someone repeatedly saying ‘hold on’. Finally, the door opened and out came a light browned hair, browned eyed, and pale skinned girl. “Yes, how may I---, Oh my god! Charlotte!” she yelled. She ran out of her house and pulled my mate into her arms. “Charlotte. Charlotte, my sister, my best friend, Mi Amiga,” She said in a rushed voice. Charlotte stood there in silence until she finally picked up her arms to hug her friend back. “Verande…” she whispered. She peeled away from Verande and stared at her. “You need to come with me. It’s urgent.” When Charlotte said these words, she sounded so mature and not like the girl I met at my store.
I smiled at this. “What’s wrong?” Verande asked. “We’re going to my old house. Do you remember it? Big freaking field as a backyard?” she asked. Verande nodded. I stood there lost… I didn’t know anything about my mate, not even her old life; this thought made my wolf whimper. “Uh, Charlotte??” I asked. She and Verande turned around and looked at me. I stood up taller and flexed my arms a bit to show off my muscularity. “Where is this old house? I didn’t even know we needed to go somewhere else.” I asked giving off some sort of attitude… I didn’t want others thinking I was a wuss of some sort. “Wait is this Mr. Hottie?” Verande asked. Charlotte nodded and I stood there. Verande whispered some more into her ear and Charlotte whispered back too, but all I heard was ‘mate’. I grabbed Charlotte’s hand and smiled at Verande. “Hi! I’m Blake Edwards. This guy is Edaniel uh…. What’s your last name?” I asked. Edaniel was off the porch but he answered “Grey.” I nodded and turned back to Verande and Charlotte. “And he’s Edaniel Grey.” I smiled. Verande just looked at me like I was crazy or something. Charlotte shook her hand out of mine and my wolf growled. She looked at me with shocked eyes and I cleared my throat. “Anyways, we should get going already.” I said. Charlotte nodded and walked into the house.
“Okay we’re ready!” yelled Verande. I opened the back door for both Verande and Charlotte after they finished putting the bags in the trunk. “Well thank ya sir.” Verande giggled. I wanted to growl at her to tell her that I was taken and not to be flirtatious but she was Charlotte’s friend, so I chose to restrain myself. I cleared my throat and closed the door and moved to the front door. Quickly I opened the door and went in. I looked at Edaniel who sat very formally. “Ok guys, road trip!!” I yelled in triumph. They looked at me then they looked at each other and laughed. “Yeah, road trip!” Charlotte and Verande agreed in unison. “Ha-ha. I remember that place!” Verande yelled. “Isn’t it the house where you lived with your granny?” Charlotte looked at Verande and nodded. “Yeah. It is. But I haven’t talked to granny in forever.” She responded. “Who’s granny?” I ask, not helping myself. Charlotte leaned towards to me and smiled. “She’s the most beautiful older woman you could ever meet,” she says. “She’s like… the sun in the morning, because no matter how many times she goes away you know she’ll come back; bright and gleaming. It’s just… I haven’t seen granny since… *sigh* well… since dad died.” She whispered that last sentence in a struggle, like she didn’t want to remember. I look at her.
“Your dad is dead?”
