Who Are You?!?! (Chapter Eighteen)

  “My mate,” I finally admitted.

I heard growling on the side. Looking over I saw five other wolves approaching us.

“Stop,” His chest rumbled against mine as he still lay close to me. They all immediately stopped. They stood still but looked alarmed suddenly/ a twig snaps and we all look in the direction the noise came from.

  “Who’s there?” The guy asked.

“……” The voice replied, but it sounded completely muffled to me, but it seemed to everyone else that they did understand.

I turned my head to find a massive pitch black wolf in front of me. I felt like I needed to be scared but inside I felt calm. The dark rusted red eyes looked at me with worry. Showing kindness and love towards me. Heat suddenly rises up my neck when I realized that the wolf in front of me now was Blake.

“B-Blake?” I stuttered. Blake looked to me, his eyes going distant, his love somehow fading slightly. I immediately look away, feeling overwhelmed. I heard branches snapping again. It was tempting at first, I wanted to look.

“Charlotte what are you doing?” Blake asked, before I could turn to look at him. My mind went into shock as I realized Blake had finally called me by my first name.

“I’m not doing anything. It’s this guy who’s on me.” I replied, feeling on spot.

“That’s not what I mean Charlotte.” Blake said. “Why did you off?”

I still hadn’t look over at Blake, but I could tell he was angry. “Why were you hitting Curt when you knew it would hurt me?” I asked, getting mad myself. Blake stays quiet for a few seconds, but it seems like minutes.

“No one,” I turned around and looked at his face, that showed embarrassed frustration. “No one?” I urged on. “No one should kiss my mate like that but me.” He finished. He looked me in the eye, his eyes looking deep into mine. He walked to me and threw the guy that was on me off.

  “Don’t touch her.” Blake growled.

“I can if I want.” The other guy replied, looking a little smug.

I looked down, realizing what I was looking at.

  They’re both naked.

“We’ll be leaving now.” Blake announced angrily.

“No, not yet you aren’t.” The other guy replied. “We haven’t properly greeted each other. I am Jackson. You two are?”

Blake didn’t reply for a long while but soon enough he did, “I am Blake. This is my mate Charlotte.”

“I see. Now why was your mate in our territory?” he asked.

  “…she ran away.” Blake replied.

“She rejected you?” Jackson asked with curiosity.

  “No! Never!” Blake barked.

  “Then what happened?” Jackson questioned.

“Nothing! It’s none of your business dammit.”

“Well, I see that I have crossed a line that should have never have been crossed.” Jackson said coolly. “You may leave. Now get off my land and don’t step foot on it without consulting us first.”

Blake nodded and he picked me up off the floor and we left.

I walked with Blake silently. Suddenly I saw a sudden jerk beside me and I looked at Blake. He had turned into his wolf form, which was almost as big as me.

  “Change,” Blake’s voice told me.

“How?” I asked. “How can I without my wolves?”

“You don’t need your wolf with you Charlie. Just let it happen. How do you think I do it?” He says. “My wolf is always taking care of my store La Bella.”

  “Oh,” I replied, feeling stupid.

I closed my eyes and imagined myself changing. Slowly I felt my bones shift. I looked over at Blake and we were the same height finally. “Let’s hurry on home to everyone. They’re worried sick.” Blake told me. I nodded and we ran in the night with the wind blowing past my fur.

“Why the hell did you freaking run off like that you idiot?!” Verande yelled at me, hitting me on my head. She kept yelling mean and hurtful things at me and all I could do was mumble how sorry I was. The guest room door swung open and I saw Abraham at the doorway with Blake behind him looking pissed as fuck.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I hissed at him.

“I’ve come to pick you up,” He replied sternly. “First, you miss our dinner rehearsal and now you want to miss our wedding?! What do want me to do?”

“Fuck! I don’t freaking know? Just get out of here!” I yelled. “Who the hell let him in the house?”

Suddenly, my granny walked into the room and sat next to me. “I did.”

“What? Why?” I asked, confused. I mean Granny has never liked my mom’s side of the family.

“He’s your fiancé, grandchild. You must go with him.” She sighed, looking exhausted.

I shook my head no. “I am not marrying him. It was a forced marriage. I’ll never be able to love him the way he wants me to.”

Granny nodded and looked over at Abraham. “I am sorry Abraham. My granddaughter is not interested in you in any kind of way.”

“Of course she isn’t! She’s my mate! That’s why granny.” Blake yelled. I looked over at Blake who was blushing a bright red. Granny looked over at me then at Blake.

“Is this true, granddaughter?” she asked.

I nod at her and say, “Yeah, I think the first time he actually knew was when I first met him and we kind of… I don’t know? Looked at each other and… gah! Granny I don’t know how to explain this.” I look at her, tears swelling in my eyes because in reality, I didn’t know what any of this was or meant. I might have acted this whole time as if this was nothing and I was okay with it, but I wasn’t. I am so confused about everything.

Wolves and vampires being real, me being a hybride. Things like that are what are confusing me.

“I understand, granddaughter,” She looked over to Blake. “Blake, you are my granddaughters mate… Have you made it…? “official”?”

I looked at my granny confused. Official? I then looked over at Blake. I was shocked suddenly, because Blake was blushing the brightest red I had ever seen. He cleared his throat and announced something I thought he would never say.
