"What the hell do you mean we can't transmit!!" Andrei says in controlled fury, of all times it could stop working. Their radio had chosen now to be such a time.
"What about the spare?" Someone asked but Kir just shook his head no with a frustrated sigh.
"Remember Comrades, one radio between each forward scouting squad..." Kir says irritatedly as he sighs sitting back down trying to think.
"What if we snag a German radio from somewhere?" Someone else asks and the room goes quiet, deep in thought.
"How and where would we find one?" Anton curiously asks breaking the silence.
"Knowing how the pigs work, it should be simple really. They might've a scouting squad somewhere out here that's acting like we are." Andrei pipes in for the thought process.
"Alright everyone, find a window and watch the roof tops... Wait!! The fascist pigs have a spotter with a radio crew coming this way!" Kir says but immediately lowers his voice to a hushed whisper as they get closer.
"I want one alive, and only one!! Take them out by surprise, no guns allowed, grab whatever you find and bash their skulls in!" Andrei orders sending everyone into action to look for something, and a soldier even had to break a leg off of a stool for a weapon.
Scrambling around, Katya watches them take up arms with anything they can find really, and it's a sight to be seen as Kir is standing readily with his wood cutting axe at the ready.
The board to the doors are carefully removed and as the four Germans pass by, Andrei nods his head giving the signal.
Kir flings the door open and wielding his axe, he lets out a yell as he jumps forward, clearing the four steps in his jump.
The German's are caught off guard and just as quick as it started, Kir has already buried his axe into the top of a German's head nearly splitting his skull open down to the mans lower chin. While the others charge out behind him, the street brawl erupts, a single shot from a kar98 crackles out but that was out there was gun fire wise.
As the Russian wielding the leg stool ran forward and smashed the wooden leg over the mans head, breaking the stool and fracturing the skull while the others are fighting for possession of a knife.
Now for the one prisoner that was to be captured was a success because a terrified inexperienced young man who's lugging the radio on his back was basically armed with the standard knife.
But he dropped it and tried running away, only to get effortlessly chased down and tacked by two of the Russian soldiers who bashed his squad mates skulls in.
There's a struggle as the young German continues to frantically try and get away, but one of the men named Artur has sent several punches into the boys face to get him to stop struggling.
"Bind him and get him inside, drag the bodies inside too and erase the blood smears, hurry!!" Andrei thunders out from the steps and Kir did as he was told by binding the weak, struggling young mans hands behind his back and was taking his anger out through verbal insults and threats to the terrified German.
Insulting him and calling him a coward with the most hate filled and racist words he can muster towards the German, unaware that the boy was fluent in Russian from his field of work.
As Kir hauls the struggling young man inside, everyone else are dragging in the dead bodies too.
"Strip them of their weapons, gloves, boots, and supplies leave the tags and ID cards alone, if you don't I'll shoot you myself. Once anything of value is stripped, dump the bodies outside and bury them in the snow banks." Andrei warns, while forcing the young man to sit down at a table and he then sits down across from him, pointing his pistol at him, keeping him at gun point.
