Four hours later, 2 miles forward in the Stalingrad industry district...
3rd shock armies front line HQ, 3 miles from the Red October factory.
"Colonel sir! News from the front vanguard concerning the rail yard linking up with the Red October factory!" A young boy yells out as he is running back towards them, someone was about to shoot him for supposedly running away.
But a older, one hell of a man bearing the rank Sergeant Major quickly jumped on the soldier and gave him a proper arse kicking for nearly shooting the boy. Everyone knows if there's a red brimmed hat on a young teenager or boys head, it marks him as a Runner, or more commonly known as a message courier.
'Blasted conscripts nearly shot the messenger.' Boris grumbles mentally watching that old bugger finish the proper beating the man deserved for nearly shooting a innocent courier.
When the young boy finally reaches the small group that assembled which consists of Colonel Boris, the few NKVD officers, Bargov, and Katyusha. Who was awoken from her slumber as this is currently her down time after returning from the battlefield with the dead snipers dog tags.
Quickly the boy salutes and then, he gives his report. "Comrade Colonel sir, allow me to report. I am the front vanguards messenger Dimitri of the 52nd auxiliary courier corps, as ordered the front vanguard of the 51st corps engineers, and the 238th has pushed forward four miles into the industry district. The casualties are catastrophic sir, and comrade Major Koyla Alexandrey's unit has been cut off and surrounded in the area of the Red October factory itself."
He says giving his report that is rapidly said due to the adrenaline that is pumping in him, the boy has a hole in his trousers from a bullet that barely missed him as he ran. Plus he's exhausted from running for 2 miles to basically get here under gun fire from said fascist.
'He's probably no older then my nephew, and he's only around thirteen, yet... This boy's running around under gun fire delivering messages and important news reports between company commanders and command.' Boris says to himself while studying the young boy as he's in thought on how he's going to put things into action to relieve Koyla at the factory.
When the young boy finally settles down a little bit, he continues onward with his important message.
"Also sir, there's men scattered all over the rail yard that is surrounding the factory building, the Major is asking for immediate relief support because the Germans have launched a counter offensive to retake that factory and yard." The young boy adds straightening himself up to look presentable to the adults that he looks up to as role models, especially because of such a prestige officer that the Colonel is.
So far, the man is the only one that actually led his men in a charge through a German kill zone instead of forcing his Major to do it, he also survived, and had further courage to take out a German tank with the sticky grenades that he was armed with.
With such deeds, there's a honorary title amongst the soldiers that's going around half the frontline, as Colonel Boris was given the soldiers title of honor as "The Tiger hunter".
