Chapter 6

"Trouble in paradise?" Levi asks taking a long drag from his cigarette.

"I take it you saw the argument then?" Eren sighs leaning against the outside wall of their school.

"Yeah I saw. It's hard right? The school year is almost over, and it's our last. I swear I tried to make it a good one, but instead here I am still smoking and there's defiantly an empty bottle of vodka in my bag." Levi waved an arm around his satchel.

"Same, I wanted to give it my all this year but unfortunately that's turned around and bit me on the ass. Armin was my best friend and just amazing in every way and I fucked everything." Eren sighs.

"Say Eren? Have you ever smoked?" Levi asks waving his cigarettes around, "It eases the pain you know."

Eren stared at the box for a couple of minutes deciding whether he wanted to take one and disappoint nearly everyone he knew or impress Levi.

"No but can I try one?" Eren perks pointing at the cigarette Levi was currently holding.

Levi took another smoke before placing the one he had been smoking and placed it at the tip of Eren's lips.

Eren opened his mouth as Levi held the cigarette steady as Eren tried his best to copy Levi's movements.

But as Eren was basically a walking failure he freaked out at the fact that Levi was holding something at his lips that he started choking on the smoke.

Levi let out a slight chuckle and removed the stick away from Eren and takes another puff from it.

"Just relax and breathe in. It's not rocket science Jaeger." Levi lights another throwing his stub on the floor and rubbing it into the ground.

"Believe it or not, but my life has been very chill until I met Erwin, I had loving parents, actually pleasant siblings and a couple of very good friends. That was until I fell in love with him." Levi shakes his head before continuing, "I was so in love with Erwin that I basically stopped talking to my family as much and I stopped talking to my good friends. It's hard, I made this choice and now I gotta live it, me and Erwin are platonic. A relationship won't spark up anytime soon. My only good friend is Hange, she's my other half I guess and I love her to pieces, I just wish I wasn't so in love with Erwin so that I could've started a relationship with Hange, but I can't. I'm in too deep now to claw my way out of this situation."

Eren leans against the wall and takes in Levi's story.

It was sort of the same situation he was in now. Apart from the fact that he had just lost his best friend and probably can't gain him back.

He looked over at Levi, to see him with his hood up and his hair covering his eyes.

Eren walked up to him and pulled the shorter boy into a hug and let Levi sob, he knew it always felt better to let out your emotions than hold them in.

And for once in Eren's life, he could see that a friendship was way more important than a relationship.

Armin sat on the couch wrapped in a duvet whilst channel surfing.

He hasn't been this sad since his goldfish died when he was 10. And that was eight years ago.

Armin nor Krista never knew their parents a their mother died during childbirth and their father died while going out to war.

Even if it sounded bad, Armin never got upset about his parents deaths considering he's never met them properly and that his grandfather brought him and Krista up as if they were his own.

He flicked through all the channels and found some shitty romance movie, he decided to watch it to laugh at the bad storyline. Even though they have a better love life than him.

Krista entered the living room and flopped down next to her brother and let out a loud sigh.

"What's the deal with you and Eren." Krista asks her twin, taking a bite out of her chocolate-chip muffin.

"He's a dickhead and I never want to see him again."

"We know that's not true. You used to have the biggest crush on him ever. Don't think no one noticed." Krista says before leaning over Armin and whispering, "Everyone noticed." She grabs the remote control before making herself comfortable again.

"Yeah used to. He's a jerk now and all he cares about is Levi." Armin looks at the steam coming off of his cup of tea, he stares at it wishing he could just become the steam so he could just disappear into nothing.

All that was Armin's mind was the exams coming up in the next term and Eren.

Eren had been such a twat but why does Armin not hate him.

He needs to get over this fucking pathetic crush.

And fast.
