Delilah's POV

I got off of the ride, and quite honestly, the Disney magic distracted me from how scared I was. I was surrounded by Disney history, so i just thought about that rather than the speed and heights of the coaster.

We started towards the middle of Fantasyland when I spotted Peter Pan out of the corner of my eye.

"DAD IS PETER! PETER PAN OH MY GOD!" I shouted, jumping around and flailing my arms. Dad and Dan couldn't help but giggle at my ridiculousness, but they didn't get it. At the orphanage, the only real entertainment we had that even I was able to use was an old TV and old VCR tapes of classic Disney films. Peter Pan was my favorite. All I wanted was Peter to appear at my window to take me to Neverland. After I turned 10, I had lost all hope that I could be adopted, so my only hope was these films. They held a special place in my heart, the childhood with a family that I had missed while I was in the orphanage. Although Dad adopting me meant more than anything to me, I still held on to the memories of the orphanage. I can and won't ever let that go.

Dad, Dan, and I walked over to where Peter was, and my heart started racing. I know that yeah, he's just a guy in a costume, but I didn't care.

"Hello!' Peter said cheekily, giving me the biggest grin I had ever seen.

"Hello there Peter! Been on any adventures lately?" I asked nervously.

"I was just about to go find Hook! Would you like to come with me?"

"Of course! Lets get that old codfish!"

Peter and I skipped towards Snow White's wishing well, where we came across Captain Hook. Peter and Hook fought for a bit, making me laugh with their hilarious antics. Hook ran away and finally I took a picture with Peter.

We stood next to each other and I gave him big hug. He acted all grossed out, because thats what he's supposed to do. He was so cute and I basically melted on the floor.

After we had to leave Peter, I knew nothing could happen to ruin my day, I had finally met Peter Pan. We got in line to get Dole whip. I had heard so much about it and I really wanted to see what the fuss was about. The line was really long, but 20 minutes later, Dan, Dad, and I all had Dole whip. We got in line for Jungle Cruise and started to eat the glorious yellow soft serve.

It was 100 degrees that day, so the cold pineapple treat was perfectly refreshing. I finally understood why everyone loved it so much.

The line for Jungle Cruise was fairly short, so within 20 minutes we were at the front of the line. The skipper got us onto the boat, and we ventured into the deep depths of the jungle.

The main draw of the ride was the corny jokes provided by the skippers of the boats as you traveled through the jungle. Dan loved corny jokes, so he was dying of laughter the whole time. I think he really lost it when we passed Trader Sam, the cannibal, and the skipper made the WORST jokes about cannibalism (finger food, come on). I appreciated it though. It too had lots of fun facts I could tell dad throughout the ride. For example, did you know that John Lasseter, current CEO of Pixar, used to be a skipper on Jungle Cruise?

We continued through our Disney adventure, me telling Dad and Dan all of the facts, and Dad and Dan making terrible puns. We ended up somehow being able to meet all of the princesses and Winnie the Pooh characters.

We ended our day with the fireworks. It was such an emotional experience, I was bawling by the end. It was a perfect ending to the perfect day. I realized just how much I appreciated Dad adopting me. I never in my life had felt this much love.
