Chapter 3

As I walked up the stairs to reach Dan and Phil's flat, all I could think was "What if they take me back? What if they don't like me?" I looked over to Phil, he saw how upset I looked and he looked at me with concern in his eyes.

"What's wrong Delilah?" Phil asked.

"Nothing, just really nervous is all." I was a terrible liar, and it seemed like Phil could tell that there was more. He unlocked the door to the flat and in came a wild Dan.

"PHIL YOU'RE BACK! PHIL THERE IS AN EMERGENCY!"

"What!?!?" Phil was scared, and at this point I was too.

"PHIL WE ARE OUT OF MALTEASERS!" Dan burst out laughing. Phil lightly hit Dan on the shoulder.

"DAN! We do not joke about emergencies!"

"Okay mom," Dan said jokingly.

"Oh yeah Dan, this is Delilah, the girl I told you that I was adopting!"

"Hello!" Dan said to me. "Are you excite to be part of our family?"

"Heck yes!" I shouted.

"Okay I will show you to your brand new room!" Phil said gesturing towards the hallway. We arrived in a room with blank white walls and dark hardwood floors. It was completely empty.

"We were planning to go to IKEA so you can pick out things for your room. Would you like to go now?" Dan asked.

"Sure!" I said excitedly. "I've never picked out my own things for my own room before!"

"Let's get on our way then!" Dan exclaimed, leading us back to the car.

We arrived at IKEA, and I have never seen so many pieces of furniture in one place! We walked over to the beds and I picked out a bed made of dark wood and a pale blue comforter. I also got a plush white area rug. I got dressers and desk that were the same wood as the bed.

"Thanks guys," I said, giving Dan and Phil each a huge hug.

"You're welcome!" They said in unison.

"We have a surprise for you when we get in the car," Dan informed me.

We got back in the car and I was waiting for my surprise.

"Close your eyes!" Phil told me.

I did and they handed me two wrapped boxes. I unwrapped each box and I saw that it was a MacBook Pro and iPhone 5s.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" I exclaimed. I was so excited. I've never really had much of my own before.

When we got home, we set everything up in my room, and Dan and Phil helped me set up my MacBook. We ordered in pizza and destroyed three of them. We watched anime for a few hours, and then went to sleep. It was the best night of my life. I finally had a family.
