Challenged

Chapter Five

Adeline's P.O.V.
I wake up to the sun hitting my face. I look down at the strong arm around my waist, then turn to look at Ashton who lays beside me.

Last night after we saw the fireworks we came back to the apartment, and I just had fallen asleep from all the Shit I was on, but honestly I wouldnt change a thing. Last night was one of the best times I've had in a long time.

"Good morning." Ashton speaks in his raspy morning voice, while his eyes are still shut. God it's one of the sexist things I've ever heard.

"Morning." I replied and kissed his forehead.

"What time is it?" He yawned and pulled me closer to his chest.

"9:25." I answered lightly.

"It's still early. Why are you up?" He asked holding me tighter. Almost like if he didn't want me to leave his embrace, but I'm only one of the many girls he's probably done this to.

I can't help but let myself relax under his touch. Him holding me so closely...I don't know.

"I was just gonna get some breakfast." I say so quietly it's almost like a whisper.

"Mmm..okay, let's go." He gets out of bed, and put his jeans back on.

I stay quiet...we didn't....we couldn't...no.

"We didn't do anything love. As much as I've tried to, I wouldn't take advantage of you like that. I'm not that bad." He sighs, then puts his hand out for mine.

I smile and take his, as he leads me to the kitchen. When we get into kitchen I see Violet making breakfast.

"Morning girl, I'm mak-" she speaks, but then stops when she sees Ashton shirtless. I don't think it was the fact that he's shirtless though, it looks like deep down somethings bothering her.

"I'm making eggs, bacon, and toast." She glares at him.

"Thanks." I say.

We all stay quiet. The tension between them makes me shift uncomfortable.

"Good morning." Luke speaks walking out of Violet's room.

"Morning." We say, then it goes back to silence.

"Well umm....Adeline I hope you didn't mind me staying her." Luke turns his attention to me, obviously feeling the tension.

"No I don't mind at all. I hope you slept well." I smile.

"I did thank you. I hope you did." He returns the smile.

"I slept wonderful." I reply.

"Of course she did, I was next to her the whole night." Ashton joins in.

"Breakfast is ready." Vi speak She seems frustrated.

We all get a plate and eat in silence, when we're done, she pulls me into her bedroom.

"He stayed here?" She ask through her teeth.

"Yeah..." I answer slowly.

"He's gonna fucking hurt you!!" She yells.

"Vi." I sigh.

"No Adeline! He's gonna fucking hurt! You need to end whatever this is, whatever's going on needs to end." She speaks angry. I've never seen her this mad.

"Violet I don't know what's going on, I'm pretty sure it's nothing, so there's nothing to end." I scoff.

"Yeah, okay. Your already catching feelings! I'm just watching out for you, but your not listening to me!" She throws her hands in the hair, like she gives up.
