Chapter Seventeen

Adeline's P.O.V.
After they told us the news on Luke they allowed us to see him. We were all confused they let us since the nurses were so persistent on only family. Turns out the nurse in the lobby spoke to the doctor letting him know how long we had been there without leaving and how we were the only ones asking for updates or information on him. She figured we were the only people he had, which was true as far as I knew.

We went into the room he was in, seeing him with a tube in his mouth to breath for him and needles in his hand. It was a hard thing to see. I felt worse for Violet. All I could do is stand by her and rub her back.

The doctor came in telling us visitng hours were over and only one person could stay the night with him. We all without a doubt thought that it would be best for Violet to stay.

Floyd led Ashton and I to his car, helping Ashton in considering he was still injured and tired for all the walking he's done today.

Ashton sat in the front and I sat in the back. The car staying in silence.

"Adeline, where am I taking you?" Floyd asked.

I was quiet as I thought for a moment. My car was at the cafe.

"Can you take me to the cafe please?" I speak softly, not sure if he heard me.

"Why there?" Ashton turned back to look at me. Worry written all over his face.

"My...my car is still there." I reply looking into his eyes, feeling a ache in my heart.

I break the intense starring and look out the window. The car ride silent again.

When we reach the small corner cafe I get out immediately, Floyd getting out as well.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"You did say this is where Calum saw you and Luke. I just wanna make sure he didn't mess with your car or anything, especially now that we don't know what lenghts he'd go just to get to Ashton." He replied and shakes his head looking at the floor.

I didn't think of that. It didn't even cross my mind.

"He's not gonna hurt her. He won't lay a finger on her. Hell will brake lose before that happens." We turn to where Ashton's voice comes from, standing a few feet away from Floyd.

"I should just make sure." Floyd insist again and I nod.

Floyd walks away from us towards the car and it's silent. A light breeze picks up hiting my skin causing me to shiver.

I feel a light tap on my shoulder and turn to see Ashton holding out his pullover to me. I look at him confused.

"Don't be so stubborn Adeline. It's cold, I see you shivering, here. Please." He holds out the pullover to me.

I take it slowly and pull it over my head slowly and smell his intoxicating scent. I feel warmer instantly.

"Thanks." I speak softly as Floyd comes back to us.

"Was it okay?" Ashton has as he shoves his hands into his pocket.

"It was good." Floyd smiles and we all stand in awkwardness.

I jingle the keys a little and before I can speak to say I'm leaving Ashton speaks before me.

"Umm...are you guys hungry? We've been at the hospital for a while without anything to eat or drink, I mean we're already here right?" He speaks quickly and looks at us.

Ashton's P.O.V.
She looks at Floyd then back at me. I know she's really debating it, but I wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Come on." I say and walk towards the cafe, I look over my shoulder to see them following behind me slowly.
