Chapter 19: DA

I sit down between Maddy and Claire at dinner and put my head on Maddy's shoulder.

"Long day?" She asks. 

"The worst, Umbridge has taking over DADA. We don't learn anything, we don't even use spells. We just read about using spells. " I say sadly.

"What! Why!?" Maddy asks

"The minister would think it best," I say mocking Umbridge and her stupid high voice. "Harry freaked out and said that it was learning to use spells that saved him from...you know who and that should have saved Cedric Diggory.

I hated this afternoon. After Draco left to go to herbology, I was left to face a depressing Ben. We didn't talk I just got out of the common room as quick as I could. Draco didn't talk to me during DADA, he didn't even look at me.

"I'll be right back," I say standing up. I see Draco notice me but he only glances for a moment before returning to his conversation with Blaise.

I walk over to the Gryffindor table and find Logan. I find him with his friends and tap him on the shoulder.

"Hey, what's up?" He asks turning around to see me.

"Do you have any envelopes?" I ask " I need to write mom"

"Of course," he says " I'll bring it to you after dinner"

"Thank you," I say smiling at him.

"No problem," he says with a smile before turning back around.

I start to walk back to the Slytherin table and I'm stopped by Harry.

"Hey Elena," he says

"Hi Harry, what's up?" I ask

"You're coming tonight right?" He asks

"Absolutely," I say,  "Hermione is meeting up with me after dinner," I say

Oh no, I'm meeting Hermione. I won't have time to get the envelope from Logan. Maybe there'll be time.

I walk back to the Slytherin table and stand behind Claire. I bend down beside her and whisper in her ear.

"I'll see you back in the common room," I say before turning on my heel and walking down the hall. I leave the great hall and walk down the corridor. I get back to the common room and walk in to see it completely empty. It's rarely empty and the quiet is almost a little creepy. I quickly run to my room and lock the door behind me. I lay down on my bed and start to dose off.

"Elena?!" Someone yells.

I'm thrown awake by the sound of someone banging on my door.

"Elena?!" I hear again.

Suddenly the door flings open and Olly bursts in followed by Beth and Alex.

"Elena, you missed dinner," Beth said running over to me.

"I know," I say sitting up. "I wasn't hungry"

"Well Logan dropped this off for you," she says handing me an envelope.

"Oh, I have to go," I say jumping up and grabbing my wand. "See you tonight Beth," I say running out the door.

"Ok" I hear her say as I run down the hall.

I run into the common room and see Draco sitting on a couch. I force myself to stay on track and run out the common room door.

I run up the stairs and see Hermione waiting at the top of the stairs.

"I'm sorry I'm late," I say catching my breath.
