Merryn's POV

Don't you just love Friday. It's that day where you know you only have five hours left of hell, and it's that day where you know you can stay up all night and sleep in all morning the following day.

Friday's are by far the best weekday ever.

However school is still a requirement, so no matter how hard you try to stay in bed, you'll always need to get out. And that is the position I am in now.

"Merryn, get you're ass out of the bed before I turn to the ice water."

I bolt up and sprint over to my wardrobe, not wanting to get wet with ice cold water. It's too early for that. I quickly choose a plain outfit and get changed, not caring if Justin is in the same room.

Yes, Justin is here.

Confused? Well let me explain.

Seeing as Justin's mother and Ms Jackie are close friends, he is aloud to sleepover here at the orphanage. He's the only one of my friends that Ms Jackie let's sleepover, probably because he's older and more responsible than the others, which I totally agree with. He's like my big protective brother. He's obviously earned Ms Jackie's trust.

Anyways he slept over because he has work today and his garage is only a couple streets away. Normally if he was at his own house it'd take long for him to get to work, so occasionally Ms Jackie will agree to letting him sleep here.

"Happy?" I wonder, turning back around to face him.

He looks up from his phone and his smile drops slightly. "Yeah, thanks. Now Ms Jackie won't have to blame me for your lateness," He jokes in a monotone voice.

"What's wrong Justin," I ask, sitting next to him on my bed, "You seem all upset now."

He rubs his hands over his face and sighs, "I just don't like it how you're acting like a nerd. I'm sorry Merryn, but it hurts me. Knowing that you're not sticking up for yourself. You're getting bullied! Physically!"

I flinch slightly when he suddenly stands up and starts pacing the room.

"Merryn," He starts, stopping the pacing and kneeling down in front of me, "This is your last year of school, so promise me that after it you won't stick to being a nerd."

He looks at me in the eyes, like he's searching for something. I look at him in the eye and all I can see is sadness. I feel so damn guilty for making him feel this way. I really do.

"Okay," I say after a few minutes.

"So you'll drop the act?" He asks, hope in his voice.

"Yes. I'll drop the act after this year."

"Thank you!" He cheers, kneeling up and hugging me. I giggle a little and hug him back. We stay hugging for longer and I don't want to let go. I love Justin and if I let him go then I'll feel like I've lost him. Oh my God, that sounded like I was confessing my love to my non-existent boyfriend or something.

I laugh in my head before pulling away, "Thanks Justin."

He gives me a confused look, "For what?"

"For making me feel happy," I smile.

He smiles back and stands up, chucking me my beanie off my bedside table, "Come on, I'll drop you off at school."

I smile again and stand up, not knowing how lucky I am to have a best friend like Justin.
