2 Years Later...

Niall's POV

I twist the wedding band on my ring finger as Liam drives us closer to the orphanage for the meeting about adopting our second child. And by us, I mean myself, Jack and Liam.

Our little family has done a lot of growing through the past two years and things have gotten a lot better. It was a year after our wedding that Harry popped the question to Louis and not long after that, they were married. Zayn and Perrie weren't far behind as the happy couple had married only a few months after Louis and Harry did. Today, Pierre is entering her second trimester for her and Zayn's first baby, and the whole gang couldn't be happier. I marveled at the happy sight of seeing a little mix of Zayn and Perrie waddle around their house.

As we make our way along the wet road from the rain, I can't help but to feel like I knew this was meant to happen. And of all things, I feel like there's more to the adoption.

Just then, I feel a hand on my lap and look down to see that it's Liam's. The ring on his finger gleams with the memory of that wonderful day two years ago and a smile creeps onto my lips at the memory. I join our hands and bring them to my lips for a little kiss.

"Two years and finally, more babies." Liam exhales with a fondness, one I will surely have to reward him with later and when Jack and the new baby is off to Karen's house for a visit.

When we pull up to the orphanage, I'm amazed at the large house. There's a little playground off to the side and the whole place looks well kept.

"Here we go." I breath out nervously as Liam goes to take Jack from the back. The boy mumbles to himself as Liam takes him out of his car seat and with that done, we go inside. When we enter, there is a lone lady sitting behind a desk while looking off to her left every so often. The lady is small and petite but has a kind smile with an authoritative aura around her. When we reach her desk, she smiles warmly and stands up.

"You must be the Paynes, so glad you took interest in adopting today." She smiles and walks around her desk to extend a handshake. The lady does look a bit scary at first, but after a smile and a few kind words, she comes off as quiet friendly.

"Thank you for allowing us to come in today." Liam says back while bouncing Jack a bit. Jack Lawrence Payne has grown to be a handsome boy, his looks remain the same, but he also has become such a good boy. It isn't uncommon for him to walk around the house asking to help Liam or I with the chores.

"Well I must also say that we do have a bit of good news and bad news. Since the higher rates of adoption, we have a bit less children to choose from. But, we will see if they are to your liking." She smiles and leads us to a large play room, it's completely empty of children except for a little playpen off to the side. For some reason, Jack begins whining to be let down. I suppose he wants to play with all the toys in the room.

But, as he's put down he walks on his stubby legs and walks right up to the playpen. Jack then puts both of his hands against the soft material of the playpen and looks inside. The sight had my heart wheezing, because if anything, it looked like Jack wanted a sibling.

I heard the social worker chuckle in front of us before she commented on the view.

"It looks like someone wants an extra brother rather than just the one." And at that, my eyebrows shoot north as we walk up to the pen. There inside are two twin babies just gurgling back and forth, that is until they see us. Liam then comes close to me and holds up Jack for a better look. When he sees them, Jack makes a little wave to them and says a cute 'hi'.

The babies bring out big, cute smiles and squirm a bit as they lay down.

"The one on the left is William and the one on the right is Wyatt. They are both one years old and twin brothers. But...if you want, I'm sure they'll get used to being apart-"

"No." I say before I can stop myself and look to the worker.

"If at all possible, could we adopt both? I know we only applied for one, but we can't separate these two brothers." The worker gets another big smile and nod as she looks back to the twins.

"You hear that boys, these kind people want to adopt you. You'll finally have a home." She says with a fond smile and if I didn't catch it, I'd say she was almost sad that these two were leaving. She seems like the motherly type, and I can only hope she gets or has a family of her own to go home to.

"Well, I have the papers ready by my desk at the front, why don't you guys bring those two and I'll get everything ready." The worker says before walking back to the front of the building. When Liam puts Jack down for a sec, he reaches inside and picks up Wyatt. William immediately screams in protest, that is until I pick him up and place him in Liam's arms along with his brother. The two then smile happily at Liam and I, and my heart soars as they seem happy to be coming with us.

With Jack in my arms, commonly babbling to the twins, I smile and think of how this reminded me of a dream a while ago. At the front desk with the papers signed, Liam and I smiled down to the two one year old babies babbling back and forth with Jack. They seem to really get along.

Yet just as Liam and I get up, a little worry washes over me as I do a double take of the worker and the twins. They are very alike in appearance and the worker seems so saddened by the twins leaving that it has me wondering. The twins have tanned skin like my good friend Zayn and black hair matching the workers. She has tanned skin too, but the biggest difference would have to be the hazel eyes the twins have while the worker has brown. But then again, why would a mother working here put her own kids up for adoption while having to witness the moment they go? It could happen, but the unlikeliness has me calming down from my silly theory. A goodbye like that could be crushing, so I focus more on simply having more kids to look after with my husband.

"Well I guess that's it, I suppose." The worker then get up and gives a little handshake to the twins before we leave, and much like a mother would, the sad lady watched us leave in the family van as we drove off back home.

With more babies in my arms and a husband at my side, I feel like I'm on top of the world and that things would be fine. In my little world of Dates with my husband, Dreams of my future and Diapers to buy for my kids, nothing can break apart my family of different people stitched together.

The End

Hello my loyal readers. *sniffle*

We have finally reached the end of this book and I'm so happy I have managed to complete it. It took a lot, but I pulled through with you guys putting up with my crazy schedule and absences. I want to just take a minute and say thank you for reading this and going on this journey with me. But like many things, it did have to come to an end.

I do have plans for the future, however, but I'm looking to take month off after a lot of pushing and running around to get this book done. The one shots will come and once those are done, I will carry on with the sequel, which will be twice as long. More Payne children will be introduced in the story and I hope I can see all of you there with me. Also don't forget to send me ideas for one shots and they can be as smutty as your mind wants...so long as it's not incest or something that involves blood...

Well, so long, farewell, until we meet again my loyal kitties. :3
