Niall's POV

I hate needles, absolutely hate them, and the whole process of getting one sucks ass. But, I gotta be brave, for Jack. Since I brought us here, at a clinic I found online that does vaccination shots, I decided on getting mine since it's seems that the flu's been going around.

I still hate it though, especially when the butch-est of all nurses handles me, with her arms the size of tires.

When I found this place, I registered myself and Jack as part of a family that lives near by. Liam wanted to stay in bed for the day, which is understandable, because when he came home,  yesterday, with flowers for me and a little plush teddy bead for Jack, he looked like he had been  crying. So after I had made supper, that day, I asked him what was on his mind.

He told me what had happened with Danielle, and how she made a scene outside of that parenting class he went to. They went back and forth, arguing about their failed relationship. But it stopped when he told her just how much he loves our son. That nearly brought me to tears, because while he was telling me all this, he was hold Jack so close, but he didn't seem to mind.

I love our son too, and I'm more than happy Liam feels the same way.

So now, I've come to the crossroads of destiny, and I have a choice on what to do.

Do I face death and try to cheat him, like a balding suburban husband. Or do I make peace with the Lord now, and ask why the Spicegirls never returned?

Remember Jack, your baby.

My mind, tells me, subtly telling me to pull on my big boy pants and be an adult.

Pulling the door open and walking inside, I'm meet with the smell of cleaning products and a waiting room. There's a little a window for the receptionist, so I head for that. When I see the content-looking receptionist, typing on her computer, I clear my voice to get her attention and tell her my business.

"Uh, hi, my name is Niall Horan and I'm here to have my son get his vaccinations. I made a phone call yesterday about this." I say while stealing a glance to Jack in his carrier, playing with his teddy bear.

"Just one second, sir." The receptionist smiles before telling me to have a seat until the nurse calls for me. It's now that I become nervous about my son getting his first needles, nobody likes them but they will help with his growth and protect him from illnesses.

"Niall Horan?" A tiny Asian nurse calls from a hallway to my right and I stand up, taking the baby carrier with me as Jack looks around in awe of the building.

"Thank you for meeting me on such short notice." I say once I step into an average office with a medical table against one of the walls. The nurse nods before going to the counter and cabinets to pull out the stuff she needs for the vaccinations. My heart drops when I see the little needle she holds along with the vials of liquid she's going to inject.

"Alright, here we are. And don't worry about the short meeting. We were expecting it, schools are about to open up again soon, so we got a lot of people coming in, wanting to get their children vaccinated." I manage a nod as I watch the nurse plunge the tip of the needle into the vial and extract the liquid into it. She then uses a wipe to disinfect the side of Jack's right arm, near his shoulder once I pulled the fabric of his shirt away, and inserted the needle into Jack's arm. I winced at the sight while Jack started to tremble with his bottom lip, but once the fluid was injected, Jack burst out crying. I allow the nurse to put a small bandage on the spot of the injection before scooping up Jack from the table and hugging him close.
