Liam's POV
I sat in the backseat of Harry's car as we drove on a deserted highway, back to the city of London. And in the silence of the car ride, we all had one person on our minds; Niall.
Today, my little leprechaun moved out, and it feels like a big chunk of me is missing. But, don't get me wrong either, Niall's my best friend. So it's not like we're going to be forever apart, but...him leaving makes me feel like I've lost the very sunshine in my life.
"I miss him already..." Louis sighed as we both watched the countryside go by. Harry was driving, with Zayn in the passenger seat, leaving me and Louis, sitting in the back.
Over at Niall's house, it looked so much more sunny and happy, but, as we made our way back to London, I could swear that the gloom was caused by the absence of a certain Irishmen.
"Yeah, me too," I said before I could stop myself. Lou looked at me a little funny and I couldn't help but make things more suspicious by rambling.
"Well, I mean, we all will miss him, yeah? But it's only a ten minute drive, right? And we are still in a band, I just think that maybe I-um...I'm going to shut up now." Louis and Harry exchange a glance before the just shrug me off, but Zayn knew there was something on my mind when our eyes met in the rear view mirror.
"So Liam," he started, "how are things with you and Danielle?"
Damn you to the depth of hell, Zayn Malik...
"Things are...okay I guess." I mumble, not wanting to talk about it.
"You guess?"
"Yeah well..." I relent, thinking about the last few weeks of my relationship with my girlfriend, "it's just, we haven't been getting along and well, I'm thinking of ending things. We fight all the time, she's hardly wants to be around me and I just can't....see a future with her." The boys each gave me their own sympathies, which I'm was grateful for.
But, a few minutes later, I looked at all the things I own, on the front doorstep of Danielle's and my 'once' shared flat.
My heart shrivels up at note, stuck to one of the boxes that reads 'sorry', written in Danielle's familiar handwriting.
Niall's POV
My eyelids flutter open as I hear the early morning birds, chirping outside my window. And as I shift around my bed, I feel how the soft sheets are trying to lull me back to sleep.
It's still early, but I know I gotta get up when Molly and Lolly keep pawing at my face. They're constantly meowing to be fed, so who am I to starve my darling little pudy-cats?
So, with all the effort in the world, I get up and walk to my in suite bathroom while I stretch the stiffness out of my muscles, not that I have any. I may look like a white noodle, but I can handle myself and lift twice my weight, thank you very much.
"Alright-alright, follow me." I said, after did my business and made my way to the kitchen. After serving out some dry food into separate bowls for my pets, I petted their soft fur while they dug in and went to change out of my pajamas. On my way, I see that there's a thin coat of dust on the floor.
"I guess a good clean up is in order." I mumble to myself, before I strip down to my underwear.
Not briefs, thong, or boxers, just underwear. The kind kids wear after becoming potty-trained. When I see myself in the mirror, hanging in the foyer, even I gotta admit that I look a little too young for being nineteen. And it's while I'm looking over myself, wondering how I can put on more weight or build up a more muscular build, is when I see it.
