Chapter Three: Remembering Sunday
KARA
Alex sent me a message around four, stating that I should be at the stage door around half six, and my name was on the VIP list under Alex's name. This left me just under two hours to get ready because traffic would be a bitch. It also gave me some time to think over Alex's proposal about sending the video of me singing to his record label. Getting signed and forming a band would be a big up yours to my unsupportive family. It was a big decision I couldn't make hastily.
After a quick shower, I decided on a pair of black shorts with a white blouse covered in little blackbirds tucked into the shorts and topped off with my favourite purple Dr Martens that matched my hair. I was looking forward to tonight's show, I was a big All Time Low fan, and I may or may not have had a little crush on Alex once upon a time. But I was like every other fangirl who never dreamed they'd meet him, but now he was trying to help me of all people get a record label. I wasn't looking for a relationship but no romance until the time was right.
I got to the venue at exactly half six and my way towards the stage door getting some glares off young girls. The security guard looked me up and down before glancing down at a clipboard.
'Name love.'
'Kara Owens, I'm on Alex's list.'
He glanced back down, and I could feel eyes burning into the back of my head. I turned around and stared a couple of sixteen-year-old girls down.
'Do you have a problem, girls?'
One wearing too much makeup strutted towards me, and I quirked an eyebrow at her clicking heels on the stone street.
'What makes you think you're so special to get to go backstage? You're not even that pretty; those guys need someone who can give them what they need.'
I couldn't help but laugh at this little girl trying to act grown up.
'They need someone not in high school who needs to learn how to blend foundation properly. Now leave me the hell alone because I'm here to watch my friends perform and have a good time.'
'Oh, you tell them, girlfriend.'
I turned around to see Jack leaning against the open stage door, snapping his fingers and grinning. The girls squealed, and I had to cover my ears with my hands. Jack came towards me and picked me up before throwing me over his shoulder and running back inside the venue.
'I'll save you, my queen.'
'Put me down, king Jack.'
I couldn't help but laugh and bury my head into Jack's shoulder as people and crew stared at us as Jack ran through the venue. He didn't stop until we were inside a smaller room filled with men laughing.
'Jack, is there a reason Kara is over your shoulder?'
Zack had a valid point, and I yelped as I was dropped onto Alex's lap, taking him by surprise, making him jump and drop his phone.
'Hi, Alex.'
Alex laughed at my clean tone and bopped my nose, 'hello to you to Kara. Now, why did Jack have you over his shoulder?'
I shrugged my shoulders and tried to shuffle off his lap, but Alex kept a firm grip earning some odd looks from Zack and Rian which I shared.
'There was a bitchy fan hassling her, and you should have seen the sass coming out of Kara's lips, it was beautiful. I decided to show them that Kara did know the band, and the look on the fan was priceless.'
Jack seemed very proud of himself while the others shook their heads.
'Well, Kara I'm guessing you know who all of us are as we do you. It's not creepy, but Alex showed us the video and wouldn't stop gushing over you.'
