Chapter Fourteen: Lost In Stereo

KARA

Tonight was the last show of touring with Bring Me The Horizon and Asking Alexandria and the energy of the crowd was electric. Every song we performed the audience clapped, whooped, screamed, sang along with, and most importantly moshed to. Although we were only the opening act, it was safe to say that any of us in the band could continue performing all night long.

'Thank you, Los Angeles, you've been bloody amazing, we've been Beyond The Sin goodnight.'

The six of us run off stage with the crowd cheering behind us. I notice Oli standing just behind the tech people who took my microphone and earpiece away smirking, and all but run at him, so he has to catch me before I knock him over. He catches me with ease.

'You did amazing tonight love, you're a natural.'

I wrap my arms around his neck, and he leans down and kisses me softly on the lips, 'now you need to go out there and kill it Oli. Then maybe when the others are out drinking, we can have some fun on the bus.'

'I like the way you think Kara, you dirty girl.'

He pecks my lips one last time and lowers me down to the ground again. We'd started dating one month into the tour and had been going strong ever since Oli was a gentleman and I needed one of those in my life right now.

'Kara, have you heard the announcement?'

Johnny runs up to me with the rest of the band behind him. I shake my head and straighten my skirt while Oli snakes an arm around my waist.

'No, I haven't Johnny. What's the announcement?'

'We've been invited to do Warped Tour this year.'

I was shocked, this was pretty big news. Warped Tour was like the Holy Grail for bands to get kick-started and noticed. I didn't think we'd be eligible since symphonic metal wasn't usually a genre that got invited along for the summer.

'Congratulations love, that means we get to spend the summer together.'

Oli squeezes my waist. Though I notice Dylan looking less than amused by the gesture, I didn't know what her problem was with Oli, but I needed to get to the bottom of it. But I couldn't take the excitement away from the rest of the band celebrating getting Warped.

'Who's been announced?'

'Us, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, All Time Low and Taste Of Poison as far as I know.' Ben chimes in, looking less than thrilled to announce our rivals.

I lean against Oli and sigh, 'nothing can come between us as a band. We're going to have an amazing summer.'

Everyone cheers and Oli leans over to whisper in my ear, 'I'll be by your side if anything kicks off babe. Now I need to get ready to go on stage. See you later.'

I stand on my tip toes and peck his lips before pushing him off towards the tech people who wanted to give him his microphone.

'I'm happy you found someone who makes you smile Kara, but we all know you'll always have a soft spot for Alex.'

Dylan leans against one of the large boxes backstage and picks at her nails. The guys stare at us, not quite knowing what input to give. I shake my head.

'Don't you remember what he did to me, Dylan? He made out with Max and slept with her, oh yeah he also kept it secret that All Time Low got Taste Of Poison on the same label at the same time as us and didn't tell us for two months until we found out ourselves that we'd been replaced on their tour.'
