Chapter 9

Mario P.O.V

Serenity stared me down but didn't budge. "Serenity go pick that up" I repeated calmly. Once again she tested me and didn't budge. For the last couple of weeks I've been getting Mahogany and Serenity for the weekends so Damon and Simone could prepare for the twins. My son Major, which is only a month younger than Serenity would come too so they could all bond. I got up and grabbed Serenity's arm and pulled her to the mess she made. "Pick it up Serenity, this the last time I'm going to tell you" I said sternly. Serenity snatched away from me and walked off. I gave up and just picked up the toys she threw. Simone came to drop off extra clothes. "Whats wrong?" Simone asked wobbling to my couch. "Serenity just keep testing me, I tried everything!" I said frustrated. Simone looked at me like I was crazy, "You're her dad! You better put your foot down, she's had more than enough time to adjust it's been month" Simone stressed. I sighed and shook my head, "Fighting with her just gone push her away" I said. My friend AJ came from out the back and laughed. "Let me find out Mario mafuckin Trigg getting soft!" he said. Simone giggled. "What if I got her by herself one day?" I asked. I was so desperate to earn back my little princess' trust.

Damon P.O.V

Trigg called a meeting with me, Bones, and Kortez. "Whats this about?" I asked looking at Kortez. He shrugged and continued scrolling through his phone. Trap walked in, I was really confused now. "What y'all doing here?" he asked. We all shrugged. Trigg finally came back into the room. "I called you all here because I'm hoping we could come together. Y'all got the East side on lock and the North and South tied down" Trigg said looking at all of us in the eyes checking for a reaction. "The only problem with that is y'all got beef with the West side and that's where we get our product" I said. Thinking about it, going into business with him could bring us way more money than we were bringing in. "We cut out the middle man and take the West side along the way" Trigg said making his hands in the form of scissors. I smiled devilishly. I stood up and shook his hand. "Sounds like a plan to me" I said. Bonez didn't look so sure but everyone else was on board.

Bonez sat in the living room with Jayriah trying to be low key flirting. "B, let me holla at you" I said smirking. Bonez said something to Riah that made her smile and then walked over to me cheesing. "Yo leave lil sis alone" I said laughing. "Mind yo mafuckin business D" Bonez said playfully pushing me. I laughed, "Naw but for real, you didn't seem too on board about the meeting" I said trying to see where his head was at. Bonez is and always has been the brains in our crew, so most of the time he made the decisions. "Its easier said than done, we been getting product from them West side niggas for years they not going down with out a fight! Now I'm all for owning the mafuckin city, but this gone cause all kind of beef and you got two shorty's on the way! Not to mention Mahogany and Serenity" Bonez said. I thought about it and he was right, but a deal was a deal. "What do we do?" I asked. "You lay low until everything is in motion, let us handle the dirty work" Bonez said walking away.

Simone P.O.V

"Money" I moaned as Damon massaged my swollen ankles. "Simone you turning me on stop calling me Money" Damon said licking his lips. I knew what I was doing and I didn't care at 7 months pregnant my hormones was going crazy. "Why I can't call you Money? You let yo niggas call you Money" I said biting my bottom lip. "Cause of how you say it, you make me feel some type of way" Damon said getting on top of me careful not to smash my enormous belly. "No Damon" I whined. I been holding out because I was set on getting my life right. "Here you go with this church mess!" Damon groaned getting up. "Whats up with you and church, you don't believe in God?" I asked him. "Of course I do, but you can love God from a distance. I don't do church or the people in it!" Damon said and then flipped over. I tried to snuggle close to him but he just scooted away. I sighed and got up grabbing a cover and heading downstairs. "Where the fuck you going?" Damon growled. I stopped in my tracks and broke down. He got up and grabbed me and led me back to the bed. "Lay down" he demanded. I laid down and turned my back. "You want me to go downstairs and sleep on the couch?" Damon asked. I shook my head and wrapped my arms around my stomach. "Then turn around" he demanded. He pulled me close and kissed my lips, soon after I drifted off.

Mario P.O.V

Today was the day for me and Serenity to have our bonding day. I pulled up and hoped out with a gift bad for both her and Mahogany. Mostly made up of clothes and shoes my baby mama Trina helped me pick out. I was never the type to seek approval from NOBODY, but I most definitely had a soft spot for my babies! Money greeted me at the door. "Wassup" I said dapping him. "Just letting you know everything is everything boss man" he said grinning. "I ain't doubt you for a minute Money!" I said truthfully. If I ain't know nothing else I know Damon about his money! That's how he earned the name! I walked in the house behind Money and Serenity was sitting on the couch pouting. "Fix yo face Reni!" Simone scolded. Mahogany ran up to me and wrapped her little arms around my leg. "Hey little bug" I said bending down and planting kisses all over her face. I handed her one of the bags with her things in it and then slowly walked over to Serenity. She scowled at me and I chuckled. She really didn't realize how alike we were, I made the same face whenever I got annoyed. I sat the bag down next to her and lifted my hands to surrender. "You ready?" I asked. She hoped up and stomped to the door. "Any pointers" I asked laughing. "Ice cream is the way to her heart" Money whispered laughing. I nodded and made my way out to my car. I strapped Serenity in one of the booster seats I had just recently purchased for her and Mahogany. "Is this my seat?" Serenity asked with a twinkle of excitement in her eyes. "Do you like?" I asked hoping this was the break through I was waiting for. Serenity shrugged containing her excitement.

All day was spent doing whatever Serenity's little heart desired and all though she wouldn't admit it I knew she was coming around. "Thanks" Serenity mumbled as she finished her ice cream and I prepared to take her home. "You know you're really stubborn like me" I said smiling. She shrugged and climbed in her seat. I watched her through the mirror and saw a hint of a smile cross her face. "I had a really good time" she said. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of us being close.

POP POP POP!

Gun shots rang out. I punched it buy it was too late, I was already hit. I gripped my shoulder and weaved through traffic. "Daddy!" Serenity screamed. I looked back and noticed blood pouring out of her leg. "Fuck!" I screamed. "Hang in there daddy gone get us some help" I tried to soothe her.

POP POP POP POP BOOM CRASH!

I gripped my side as bullets tore through my body. My car crashed off the bridge into incoming traffic below. We flipped after being hit by a truck. I looked back and Serenity was dipping in and out of conscience. 'Lord please don't take my baby from me' I silently prayed.

BOOM!

Everything went black.
