I watched as Adam ran his hand on one of the wooden fences.
"You're gonna get a splinter if you do that." I say to him and walked beside him.
"Just a splinter." He said and shrugged. A few seconds after, he brought his hand back down and placed them in his pockets.
We walked past a few houses when Adam stopped at a green house.
"I gotta stop here. This is my house." He says and then I watched as a little girl, probably age 7, ran out and hugged Adam around the waist.
"Adam! Who's this?" She asked in a sweet voice, smiling at me.
"Oh. This is Ave. Ave, this is Nicki." He says to me then picked Nicki up and she waved at me.
"Hi Nicki!" I say kindly and waved back.
"Big bro! She's cute! She your girlfriend?" Nicki asked and I watched Adam quickly blushed.
"N-Nicki. No. We're just friends!" He says then puts her down. "Inside. Now." He says and I watched Nicki run back into the house.
"Cute sister." I say and smiled at him. I watched as Adam walked closer again, faint pink on his cheeks.
"Let's make a pact. We meet here every morning to walk to school and walk home together." He says to me and smiles.
I looked at him, a little amazed by the sudden pact he was asking but I then smiled.
"Alright. I'll meet you here at eight-thirty?" I ask and watched as he nodded.
"Okay. See you then." He says then runs towards his house. I turned slowly and glanced at his house one more time before walking away to my house.
                                                           ~
I sat at the dining table and stared at my food. It was spaghetti with melted cheese on top with two garlic breads on the side. I found it delicious...well I found anything made by my cooks delicious, it was just the fact of always eating alone.
I stared down at the ginormous table. It could seat fifty people if people came, but, as usual, I ate alone.
I finished dinner quickly and then dabbed my mouth with the napkin. Maids hovered at my sides and took my plate, pulling the chair out so I could get out. I thanked them quickly and then walked out.
I looked at the clock and realised it was almost midnight. I had chosen to stay up late and try to see dad.
I laid down onto my queen sized bed and sighed. I knew how it was to have a sibling...but I still wasn't prepared to even remember that incident.
Sudden images flashed into my mind and I knew I had to stop thinking about it.
"Idiot...." I said to myself and then clutched my head. Tears streamed down my cheeks and my eyes closed softly. I was asleep in seconds, nightmares tormenting me all through the night.
