Chapter 2

Natali and I have been friends since I skipped a grade and ended up in her class in fourth grade. There hasn't been any problems with our friendship, or so I thought.
This summer I went to a local camp all summer and made amazing new friends, but it turns out I wasn't the only one making new friends.
This morning when I walked into school to the eighth grade meeting place I looked for Natali so we could walk to class like we always did last year, but I couldn't find her at first. When I finally ended up finding her, her back was to me and she was talking to someone else I knew all too well.
Christina Evans is the most popular girl in school, and let me tell you she is also the most stuck up girl I have ever met. Her house is a mansion, her closet could fit a mini van in it, and her family has way too much money for their own good. To add on to that, since she is the richest person in the grade she thinks she can boss the rest of us around.
Now I think you can imagine what's running through my mind when I see my super sweet best friend talking to the most popular girl in school like they became best friends forever ago. Though if you can't imagine it, well then imagine this. Take your best friend and a person you really dislike, then picture them talking and laughing and treating each other like there isn't a care in the world. See it? It's dreadful let me tell you, pray this doesn't happen to you because Christina Evans is trouble.
So when I finally get to Natali, she won't acknowledge my presence and I honestly feel like I could jump up and down on her head and she wouldn't notice me. When I finally realize that she won't be looking my way anytime soon, I head inside with my heart at the bottom of my shoes.
