In the September massacres, angry citizens attack anyone who seems to support the king. Like priests and nobles. Legislative Assembly suspends the constitution. The king is deposed, and they called for new elections. This happens all in the time of the September Massacres. They abolished monarchy and France is declared a republic. Also they gave all citizens the right to vote. They put the king on trial for treason. This happens by the National Convention. King Louis the XVI is found guilty for "conspiring with enemies of France & endangering public safety". He then is executed in January 21 , 1793. Then later on the year Marie Antoinette is executed in October 16, 1973.
