Previously......
I just smiled and let him choose where to go and do next. As long as he smiles, laughs and stays by my side for now I'd do anything for him.
Now.....
That day was fun for me and Mordecai, we hung out like old times. Even if I wanted to hang out as something more than friends, just being close to him makes me unbelievably happy.
We went to the mall after the arcade and since we've been working so hard for two days in a row Benson gave us a raise, but if we start slacking off he'll take it away. He wanted to buy new cloths for his date on saturday, when he said this my mood dropped slightly but I wouldn't let him notice.
We didn't do anything else after the mall since it got dark and we spent a lot of time in there. On our way back it was quiet, only the sounds of the leaves being pushed by the wind were heard. I liked it like this, it was relaxing.
We got home and right when we stepped into our room Mordecai's phone began to ring. He answered it and has a look of surprise on his face as if he remembered something.
"HEY! um...yeah wait." He said into the phone and he then turned to me "Um...I kinda...have to um...take this....I'll be right back..." He sounded nervous and somewhat happy, with that he stepped into the bathroom.
I ran to the door and pressed my ear against it. I wanted to know who he was talking to but I realized that what I was doing is wrong. Listening to his conversation when he clearly didn't want me to.
As I was going to pull away from the door I heard him say something that froze me to my spot.
"Yeah, um... hey Margaret! .....Yeah, yeah!...... Of course I'm still up for tomorrow! At 8 right! Yeah..." He said sounding very nervous and happy. There was a long pause until he talked again. "No! No, he's not going to be tagging along!....Awww come on we're not that close, he gets pretty annoying sometimes that I'd wish I didn't know him!! He's sometimes such an-" I didn't want to hear anymore of the conversation.
I walked to my bed and dug under all the mess I pulled out my only friend, the one that always makes me happy on the roof. I was walking towards the bedroom door and opened it.
"I'm going on a walk! Be back later Mordecai!" I yelled loud enough for only him to hear. I heard him shuffling in there and I ran back to the window closing it behind me on my way out.
I was almost on the roof when I heard Mordecai get out the bathroom and heard him call my name. He got quiet for a while, then I heard him continue his conversation with her.
I could hear him walking to his side of the room and more shuffling was heard. He must be changing. After a while I heard the sound of the light being turned off.
I laid down and looked at the darkened sky, there aren't gonna be any start tonight. I just looked up waiting and after a while I saw a single dim glow. It was dim but still noticeable.
It seemed to flicker and I couldn't hold it in any more, it hurt so much and let go of the last bit of strength. I started to cry silently, just like always.
The start started to glow brighter and brighter the more I cried. It was so bright that the entire world seemed to go white. Time stopped and the world was pure.
