Jordan's POV:
Everything was out of focus. My eyesight was blank. It seemed like I was dying. I yelled out in pain and kept my eyes shut tight. Giggles sounded around me. Pain radiated through my body as I was unable to move. Soft talking filled the background as more moaning escaped my lips. I felt like every bone in my body was broken. What was happening to me?
Moments later, the pain lessened enough for my eyes to open wide. The surroundings were still exactly the same, except that the people in the room were looking much happier.
"Was the process successful?" Alister questioned in a hushed voice. Mianite walked up to me. His blinding white eyes collided with my clear blue ones. Suddenly, I felt like I was supposed to do... something.
"M'lord." I muttered softly, hanging my head low. Mianite grinned.
"Indeed. Gaines!" Gaines looked up quickly. "Train the prisoner. Tom, Alister, follow me." Tom and Alister followed Mianite out of the room as my gaze focused on Gaines.
"What else are you gonna do to me?" I asked, fear lining my voice. The Deviser laughed and walked to the door as though he were going to leave me there. Instead, he locked the door and paced back towards me.
"Who do you follow?" he asked suddenly. I gave him a look. Why did he just randomly ask me this? I racked my brains as I attempted to think. Then, the thought finally came to mind.
"Mianite." I said plainly. A wide grin spread across the Deviser's face. Just for a moment, he snatched something from the corner, which turned out to be a diamond sword and a sparring dummy. He unlatched one of my arms and placed the sword in my hands. He then unbuckled my legs and other arm, but kept a very firm grip on my left arm.
With a snap of the fingers, the dummy's appearance changed. It now had spiky purple hair, along with a neat suit and a cherry red tie. What an odd why to dress up something I was going to be hitting repeatedly.
"See this dummy?"
"I do."
"He represents someone by the name of Tom Syndicate." That name got lodged into my head. It seemed so familiar somehow. The only question was: How? Tom Syndicate, Tom Syndicate, Tom Syndicate, Tom Syndicate. Sadly, that name didn't ring a bell. But it does feel like I know a Tom Syndicate.
"Now, Tom Syndicate and his friends James Waglington, Tucker Jericho, and Sonja Firefoxx all rebel against Mianite. Later, though, it is your job to defeat them. Understood?"
"Understood." A smile spread across Gaines' face as he took a few steps back.
"Practice," he ordered. "I'll be back in a few hours." With that, the Deviser left the room and locked the door, leaving just me and the sparring dummy. Those names seemed strangely familiar too. But still, where? Where have I heard these names before? Ignoring my own mind, those names kept being repeated.
"James Waglington, Tucker Jericho, Sonja Firefoxx, Tom Syndicate, James Waglington, Tucker Jericho, Sonja Firefoxx, Tom Syndicate..." I muttered softly. I rose my shiny sword high above my head, and let it impact the dummy straight in the head.
"Ouch, you sausage! That hurt!" the dummy exclaimed in a thick British accent. Did they really set up the dummy to sound like an actual person? Maybe it was Tom Syndicate. I needed to remember that name and voice. My sword continuously hit the dummy shaped like Syndicate as it kept spouting out that catchphrase. It was kind of funny, actually.
After a good 30 minutes, the dummy suddenly turned around into a puff of smoke, and it's appearance changed. It changed into a dark grey cloak and seemed to be crying blood. My sword collided with its head and another voice yelled.
"Ow, I have feelings!" it yelled in another British voice, except much lower. A chuckle escaped my lips. How much time would it have taken to build all of these weird things? I placed that question in the back of my mind as I continued to train. Finally, after another 30 minutes, the dummy did the same transformation.
It now had a vivid red hat with some green design, along with a lime green backpack and a dark blue coat. Okay, now these were getting slightly weird. Nevertheless, I raised the sword high above my head again and brought it down on the dummy's head.
"Jeez, what the heck?!" the dummy exclaimed in a loud American accent. I still didn't know who it was. The only person I knew was Tom Syndicate. Or, well heard of him. Maybe I should shut up my own mind and start working. With that, I went in complete Zen mode and started training even harder.
I was getting fatigued when finally, the dummy changed for hopefully the last time. It now had a bright orange hoodie with little fox ears poking out. This might be Sonja Firefoxx. In exhaustion, I yet again rose the sword above my head and swung it down.
Finally, 30 minutes later, the door opened, revealing Gaines again. He grinned and walked up to me. Yet again, he snapped his fingers and the dummy disappeared into the floor. Gaines then held out his hand for a sword and I, reluctantly, gave it to him. With another snap, a shower appeared in the corner. Gaines pointed a finger at it.
"Go. Take a shower. You reek." Gaines ordered. Quickly, I dashed over to the shower. It felt nice to feel hot, steamy water wash upon me. Well,, when your being stuck for a few days in a place you can't get out, any type of freedom is nice. About 10 minutes later, I snatched up my clothes and changed inside the shower.
Moments later, I stepped out and saw Gaines, Tom, and Alister standing there creepily.
"Uh, hello?" I asked, taking a small step back. Tom and Alister dashed towards me and grabbed my arms, making me unable to escape again. I muttered under my breath as they led me to the chair and tied me up again.
"Hey, have I ever told you what great people you are?"
"No."
"Good." I laughed as they looked infuriated. Deviser whispered something in Tom's ear, and the guard walked off. The lieutenant then followed shortly afterwards. My eyes widened in confusion.
"Nighty night, prisoner." Gaines whispered darkly. He then pulled a needle out of his vest. Oh no, I hate needles! Attempting to squirm away, Gaines injected the needle into my arm, causing my vision to go blurry and black out.
