Tom's POV:
Darkness surrounded me as yelling was the only thing entering my ears. My hand flailed around, seeking another persons hand. Soon, a few fingers entered my grasp and I tightened my grip. Without any knowledge of who it was, our hands interlocked. I just hope it wasn't Mot.
Moments later, we hit the ground with a loud THUMP! A few moans escaped my lips as I scrambled up. Everyone else was still here, thank goodness.
"Alright, everyone okay?" I asked, holding up my own hand. Everyone else raised their hands slightly. A grin spread across my face, but was quickly replaced by confusion. Why did we come here to Katsir in the first place? And how would it help us?
"Come on, let's explore!" Tucker exclaimed enthusiastically, grabbing Sonja's hand and dragged her into the dark depths of Katsir. They were already gone a few seconds later.
"So... they're gone." Wag said, sitting down on a rock. Mot stayed silent, just looked at a worn down house.
"Something wrong?" I asked, leaning against the wall of the worn down house.
"Don't touch that house!" Mot exclaimed, throwing his arm in front of him. Quickly, I walked forwards and left a few chips of wood on the back of my coat.
"What's wrong with you?" Wag questioned, standing up speedily.
"N-Nothing..." Mot whispered, looking away from the house.
"Like I believe that." I muttered, crossing my arms. The hybrid's face grew a bright shade of angry red.
"You don't know what I've been through at this house!" Mot exclaimed, pointing a specific finger at the broken house. What did he mean?
"Did you know someone here?" Wag questioned suddenly, his head snapping up, causing his hood to fall off momentarily. Mot's glanced down at his dark brown boots. He mumbled something, yet it was impossible to tell what.
"Come again?" I questioned, taking a step towards him.
"MY DAUGHTER!!" he screamed, fists shaking in rage. The color drained out of my zombie face.
"Y-You're daughter?" I choked as my heart rate increased dramatically.
"YES! ALYSSA!" he shouted. It seemed as though tears started welling up in his eyes. Was this where his daughter used to live?
"You had a daughter?" Wag asked, fear lining his voice. Wow. Inconsiderate much? Mot's gaze focused on Wag, fire dancing in his dark eyes. The wizard took a step back, knowing that he had obviously done something wrong.
"Okay, Wag, how about you go and get Tucker and Sonja to come back here?" I suggested, taking the wizard by his shoulders and pushing him away from Mot and the house. I looked back at Mot, who was wiping tears from his eyes.
"S-Sorry about Wag," I whispered. "H-He hasn't lost anyone he loved before. He's never loved, as a matter of fact." Mot turned to look at me, sadness found in his coal black eyes.
"Have you lost someone you love?" Mot asked, an eyebrow raised. My face grew a bright shade of red. I mean, I did sort of like someone, but I'm positive they didn't feel the same way. I haven't seen them in a while, though.
"Y-Yes..." I choked, my voice dying.
"Who was he?" Mot asked. The embarrassment in my face only grew. Why did Mot think it was a he? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't! I'm not telling that crazy hybrid!
"Like heck I'm telling you!" I exclaimed, taking a large step towards my alternate. He smirked, but his smile fell once he looked at the house again. Without response, he went into the house as if he owned it. Reluctantly, I followed after him. The hybrid slammed open the door.
The house was only a few rooms. The first room was a kitchen and dining room combined. A minuscule kitchen sat in the corner, along with a wooden table in the very center with two old, rotting wooden chairs. Mot went into the room on the far left, leaving me in the dust.
The room on the right was just a small bathroom with the bare necessities, and the room on the left was a bedroom. Slowly, I followed after Mot as the surroundings clicked.
There was one bed, with no covers on it. Just a blank mattress and snow white pillows. There was also a birch dresser sitting in the corner, along with a jungle wood closet, in which Mot was searching through.
"Find anything?" I asked, stepping in awkwardly. My alternate stepped out of the closet, with a picture frame and old, dusty book in hand. The words "DIARY" were written across the book, yet too much dust had collected on the picture. "What's that?"
Mot didn't respond. He just blew on the picture, so dust fluttered to the floor. I was able to catch a glance at the picture. There were two people. The taller one looked like Mot, except he wasn't wearing his scarf and he looked much younger. The girl next to him had red tribal markings under her eyes and light brown hair up in a knot. They were both smiling widely, and one of Mot's hands was around her shoulder.
"Is that Alyssa?" I asked quietly. All Mot did was nod.
"I'm taking this book back to Urulu. Get your friends. We're leaving." Mot ordered, sprinting out the door. I followed after him and I already saw that everyone was making their way towards us.
"Hey guys!" Sonja exclaimed happily. "How are you guys doing?" Mot just turned around and faced the portal, which was barely flickering, just enough for us to jump through. I hope. Instantly, Tucker took his girlfriend by the hand and the two of them jumped in, disappearing seconds later, most likely on the other side.
"Later." Wag said, walking backwards and majestically falling back into the portal. But there was something wrong. The portal was barely on. A few small, light blue particles were floating around, and the controller was emitting little sparks.
"There's only enough power left for one of us..." I breathed softly, my voice trailing off. This was bad. And I mean, really bad. One of us wouldn't be able to get back to Dagrun without the help of Gaines. And apparently, Gaines was bad news. Suddenly, Mot dropped the book and picture frame. He then grabbed me tightly by the shoulders.
"W-What are you doing?!" I asked quickly, fear lining my voice.
"Go to Dagrun." Mot ordered. "I'll stay here." My eyes widened as I turned around and looked at my alternate in fear.
"No!" I exclaimed. "No! I won't let you!"
"Listen to me, Syndicate," Mot hissed. "Dagrun needs you. I've done everything I can to help you. Find Sparklez. Once you do, THEN try and get back here for me. I'll be fine. Now go! The portal doesn't have much energy left!"
With that, Mot threw me through the portal as I stumbled through it. Light blue particles surrounded me as I quickly turned around to get one last look at my alternate. He smiled softly and waved, a sad look on his face. I returned the grin as darkness surrounded me and I teleported away from Katsir, back to Dagrun. Away from my alternate, but one step closer to finding Jordan.
