The cold wind whipped through Beth's hair as she made her way through ridges and over rocks. She had no idea where she was going, nor why she was still walking, but she knew deep down that she had to keep to keep going. As she progressed, the piles of rocks grew higher and she struggled to climb them without stumbling. Small rocks would dislodge themselves and Beth would lose her footing and risk slipping. But she kept going.

After a while, the rock piles stopped and the floor became sloped and Beth found herself walking up a hill that seemed to have no end. What was odd, wasn't the sudden change in landscape, but the colour of the soil. It was the same dark red colour she had seen in Edom. Beth knew that she couldn't be in Edom, could she? It didn't seem very likely since Jonathan was in the room next to hers and was no longer in this cold, dreary place. Someone else must have brought her there, the only question is, who?

The slope grew higher and steeper and Beth was beginning to lose her breath quicker than before. In fact, she had barely walked ten paces up the steeper hill before it became almost impossible to breath at all. The dust surrounding her didn't help much either. Once the wind blew, the dust would be caught in a whirlpool and begin to spin around, long after the wind had passed. It was almost impossible for her not to breath the dust in as it spun around her. She caught the ends of her hair out the corner of her eye and noticed that the dust had turned them a dark red rather than the blonde it had been when she first arrived.

"What in the Angel is going on?" She muttered through laboured breaths. In order to catch her breath, she perched on a large boulder that seemed both out of place and extremely convenient. She vowed that she would only rest for a short while as she attempted to regain her breath, but after a few minutes she was still struggling. The dust continued to whip around her head and face and showed no sign of letting up and as long as the dust was around, she wouldn't regain her breath. So, thinking quickly, Beth pulled the front of her T-shirt over her nose and mouth and took a few deep breaths. When she regained enough breath, she set off again.

Beth kept the T-Shirt pressed tightly against her nose and mouth to prevent dust seeping through and restricting her lungs. Instead of worrying about her breathing, her legs were beginning to burn and she was feeling light headed because of the height. "You're almost there Beth," a voice whispered in her ear. Beth's head whipped sideways to see where the voice had come from, but there was no one around. It was as if the voice had come and gone with the wind.

Shaking the absurd idea from her head, she kept moving. It was after a few paces that she noticed the path levelling out. She breathed a sigh of relief and continued the walk which gradually became easier. Beth was certain it was almost at an end when the incline turned flat. She took a single step and dislodged several small rocks that lay on the ground and heard them roll and expected to a hear a clatter, but after looking down she noticed that the incline ended at an exceedingly large cliff.

To see how far down this cliff was, Beth grabbed a rock from the ground and dropped it over the ledge and watched it tumble down the drop until it vanished from sight, she didn't even hear it hit the ground. "Well, that was pointless," she whispered. She had made the long walk only to discover that there was no reason to. Beth began to wonder what to do next, she could either hang around on the top of the cliff for ages or make her way back down and try to find a way out. Neither sounded appealing.

As she stood looking down on the dark gap below her, Beth decided that it would be better to head back down rather than hang around and risk slipping over the edge. As she turned to make her way down, a huge gust of wind blew from in front of her and Beth lost her balance. She attempted to regain it, but it was already too late. She found herself falling at an alarming pace towards the bottom of the mountain.
