Hi!

Here I am again! Not on my iPhone since my father was so kind to lend me his laptop. Again we have to thank McDonalds for their free wifi! Well, this one is a bit boring, but I promise you next chapter will be quite exciting!

Enjoy!

A picture of Nate btw ------>

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

It was a week after my fight with Nate and I was sitting in the cafeteria with an excited looking Audrey. I had managed to avoid her and the rest of the institute for that matter. I spent the whole week with Aydin, skipping classes and barely eating. Most of the time we were in the library, since hardly anybody came there and we were both addicted to reading. It was a nice, relaxing week, without any stress.

Of course the direction of Cavanaugh had to make an end to it. They found out that I was skipping classes. Or rather my great friend Eric found out I was ditching. I had to speak with them and explain to them there was nothing wrong with my emotional state. I didn’t say anything, though. It was my number one rule, never tell the employees what’s wrong with you.

Although I didn’t say anything I had to go to classes and the teacher’s would write down whether I was in class or not. So I didn’t have a choice. I had to go. Aydin didn’t have to go, of course. I still didn’t know how he managed to do that without getting noticed. I seriously had to ask him one day.

“So how’s it going with you and Nate?” Audrey asked, snapping me out of my line of thinking.

I looked up at her and feigned ignorance. “What do you mean?”

I could tell that she knew that I knew exactly what she was talking about, since she narrowed her eyes at me and gave me a knowing look. “You know what I’m talking about, Melanie Ashford.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I didn’t feel like talking about Nate now.

Audrey took a bite of her salad and shook her head unbelievably. “Alright, I’ll spell it out for you. I want to know whether you have talked to Nate and how it went.”

I was fairly sure she knew I had talked to Nate, since we were very amiable together during the sports day and she has probably seen that. I didn’t want her to know how he had bitten me and other things. I also didn’t want her to know of our fight, she would be so disappointed. So I went for the most easy way.

“Nope, I haven’t talked to him yet,” I avoided looking into her eyes and nonchalantly put my spoon with yoghurt in my mouth.

Again, Audrey looked at me suspiciously. “Liar, I saw that you were in his group during the sports day. There’s no way you haven’t talked to each other.”

At that moment, Crystal came walking towards our table. She carried a tray with some weird looking soup and smiled when she saw me sitting with Audrey. Her scar was still very evident on her face and I couldn’t help but look at it. Audrey gave me a nudge with her elbow, which made me quickly avert my eyes.

“Hey guys,” she said, as she sat down. “The food is just as gross as always.”

“I don’t expect anything else,” I said with a smile on my face. I was happy that Crystal made Audrey forget her conversation about Nate and me.

“Where were you the last couple of days?” Crystal asked me.

I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, raking my hand through my hair before I started biting my lip. I had no idea how they were going to react on the fact that I had hung out with Aydin. They didn’t like him, or at least Aydin didn’t like them and I was fairly sure the feeling was mutual.
