Chapter Twenty

Atticus POV

I giggled as the pups ran around me, squealing coming from their mouths as I chased them. Something hit me in the back making me stop. I turned around my eyebrows furrowing in confusion as I saw Sylis standing third with his arms behind his back.

"Can't catch me Atticus!" A little girl squealed snapping me out of my confused state.

I chased after her only to stop again when something hit me again. Turning around I saw Sylis with a ball of snow in his hand, my confusion grew as he smirked at me. He threw the ball of snow at me and it hit me on my stomach. I watched a pup throw a ball of snow back at him hitting him in the face making me giggle.

"Come on Atticus!" Another giggled and handed me a ball of snow.

Getting the hit I threw it and hit Sylis directly on his nose. I giggled and watched as a playful smirk grew on his face.

"Protect king Atticus!" A little boy squealed as Sylis picked snow and formed it into a ball.

He threw it my way and I dodged it smiling as the pups around me there snowballs back at Sylis.

"Roar I'm the big bad wolf! Ive come to take your king!" Sylis playfully roared.

"Run king Atticus! Well hold him off!" Another little boy squealed.

I giggled and started running two pups on my heels as I ran. In a matter of seconds I was swopped off my feet, a squeal leaving my lips.

"Caught you." Sylis said huskily in my ear making me shiver.

I smiled up at him as he smirked down at me. He stood me on my feet and leaned down capturing my lips with his.

"Ewwww!" I heard the pups squeal making me pull from this kiss, a blush on my cheeks and I his myself in Sylis's chest.

"Atticus!" I heard the Luna squeal.

Looking her direction I was blinded by a flash of light, instinctively I gripped Sylis's coat tight in my hands. Once I regained my vision I saw the Luna holding a camera in her hand as a smile played on her lips.

"Alright king Atticus I think its time for us to go inside." Sylis said picking me up as my teeth started to chatter.

I ducked my head into his nape and wrapped my legs around his torso. Gently I threaded my mitted hands through his neck hairs, his warm breath fanning my neck as he held me.

He sat me on the bed and stripped me down to my boxers, dressing me in warm pants and a shirt. He did the same to himself before crawling into bed next to me. He pulled me next to him, a small gasp leaving his lips as my hand touched his chest.

"You're freezing." He said covering me up with the blanket and pulling me closer.

I smiled as our noses touched, eyes locked together.

"My big bad wolf." I giggled pecking his lips.

"I loved watching you play with the pups today. Too see you smile so much made me happy." Sylis spoke happily.

As he smiled a frown formed on my lips.

"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"I can't give pups." I whimpered tears coming to my eyes.

"Shh Atticus, its ok." He cooed wrapping his arms tighter around me.

"No no-not!" I whimpered.

"Atticus listen to me baby its fine. We can just adopt a pup. Don't cry." He said kissing my cheeks.

"Ad-adopt?" I hiccupped.

"Yes, some pups that loose their parents and have nobody to take care of them go to an orphanage. Then mates like us or mates that can't have pups period go to the orphanage and find a pup they want. With a few signatures they have a pup to take home and care for." He explained brushing the pad of his thumb against my cheek.

"Ho-how many pups can get?" I asked.

"How every many we want."he said kissing my tears away.

"Pr-promise Atticus?" I said nestling my head into his nape.

"I promise baby. We can get how every many pups you desire. We'll love them like they were our own." He said and pulled me closer running his hand through my hair.

I took in his scent and slowly fell asleep in his arms as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"I love you Atticus, I will give you anything and everything I can. You deserve it, you deserve much more than I can give." I heard him mumble before sleep took me in with open arms.
