Scott

I ran over and fell to my knees in Mitch's blood, feeling the warm liquid soak through my jeans. I put my head on his chest and felt it rise and fall, very shallow and labored. I also heard a fluttering heartbeat. I brushed his hair from his eyes before the paramedics pulled me away and grabbed Mitch gently from the ground.
I fought to get away from them but ended up on my knees again. I watched as they carried him away from me and up the stairs. When the officer holding me released me I ran upstairs and out the door but they were already gone.
I walked down the stairs and watched them put Travis's body into a body bag.
'... It's over... It's really over. He can't hurt my Love anymore..."
I started sobbing. It was a mixture of hatred, joy, pain, sadness and relief.
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
I looked up and saw Olivia.
"Let's get you home Scott." She said.
"No! I want to go with Mitch!" I cried.
"No Scott." She said sternly. "You need to go home and rest. Mitch has a long night of surgery and examinations. I will let you know when he is stabilized."
I nodded even though my thoughts kept screaming to go after Mitch.
I don't want him to have to be alone for even a second because I am still to scared to loose him.
I was silent the whole drive home, anxious to relay what just happened to everyone. I knew they would be waiting for me.
I stared blankly out the window thinking about Mitch.
I was recalling all of our amazing memories together when I was pulled by my thoughts.
"Scott? We are here, do you want me to come in with you and explain the situation?" Olivia asked.
"I think they will want to hear it from me, but thank you."
She stopped the car and I climbed out.
I was bombarded at the door by everyone asking if we found Mitch and if he was okay.
"I am going to shower and then I will explain everything." I said walking into the bathroom.
I stripped off my bloody jeans and shirt and stepped into the water. It was tinged pink my Mitch's blood that had dried to my legs.

I am covered in Mitch's blood...

The realization that I was caked in my best friends blood made me want to vomit.
I took a quick shower, not wanting to keep everyone waiting for something like this for too long.
I grabbed a towel and dried myself, wrapped it around my waist before going to my room to get clothes. After dressing I walked out to the living room to see everyone holding hands and praying. I smiled and went to kneel with them. They finished their prayers and looked up at me with fearful, yet hopeful, eyes.
I told them everything.

Mitch being gagged by Travis.
Him at gun point.
Travis getting shot and dying.
And lastly...
Mitch being shot.
And surviving.

At least... For now...

So the last few chapters are going to be short like this because it is easier for me to write short chapters. Sorry guys, I wish it could be longer but this is so much easier for me. I also just published a Septiplier story called "say something" and it would mean so much for your to pop over to that and give it a shot. I hope this is alright for now and I'll try to update soon.
