Lydia  was hard at work, shoveling pile upon pile of snow into one huge mountain with enough powder to create a snow monster. She had been put in charge to clear the drive way while stiles was at work so everybody could actually reach the house at tonight's Christmas party. This year, it was Stiles and Lydia's turn to host. It would probably top Kira and Scott's last year, after all, Lydia was the party queen in their high school years.

But the work was very, very frustrating. When the pile got to big, it would topple over pouring out more snow back onto the driveway.

"God damn it," Lydia cussed to herself, shoveling yet again fallen snow back into the mountain of white. "Why does this have to be so hard!" She whisper yelled, and then slipped  on the slate-like ice and toppled into the powder, followed by many grunting noises coming from the strawberry blonde.

"You know, it would've been a much smarter idea to pack down that little snow mountain you got goin on." Lydia heard a smooth voice call, but it was muffled by the powder. She held out a hand, waiting expectantly for the person to come pull her up. She felt long, skinny fingers grip her delicate ones and was hoisted to a standing position. She met those gorgeous honey colored orbs that were scrunched due to his playful smile.

"Mrs. Stilinski, I much say you look adorable covered in snow." Stiles said, grabbing her cold cheek.

"I didn't know you got off work so early," She bit her lip, another adorable habit stiles had noticed she did.

"Well, I just wanted to be home with my lovely wife on Christmas Eve. After we finish the driveway, I have some plans for us. And it may include some more to-cute-to-be-true snow covered Lydia." He giggled along with her, and went to go pick up another shovel in the garage.

"Work will be a lot more fun with someone else, and so will Christmas Eve. I'm glad your here, Stiles." She said, and began to hoist more snow into the pile.

"Me too, Lyds."

-

"Will you please tell me where we are going? I am dying of anticipation." Lydia exaggerated, forming her lips into a little pout. Stiles had blindfolded her, and didn't want her to have any idea of where they were going

"Nope, but we're almost there. Don't worry, you'll love it."

"That's exactly what you said when we tried sky diving."

"Yes, yes, but this is something you actually will love. Trust me." He grabbed her hand reassuringly, and gave it a little squeeze before pulling the jeep to a stop.

Stiles jumped out, and Lydia heard the snow crackle under his feet. 'Must be somewhere outside and not very popular.' She thought, since most public places have a nice upkeep and clear the snow often. He ran to the passengers side and opened the door.

"I'll help you out, the steps to the jeep are pretty slippery." Stiles said, and put one hand around her waist and the other gripped one of her little hands. He lifted her up and out of the seat, before placing her gently on the ground. Lydia could tell that there was about 5-9 inches of snow where they were, and felt the coldness seep into her boots. Good thing she was wearing fuzzy socks today. She could smell fresh pine and smoke around her, mixed with Stiles' cologne.

Stiles never let go on her hand, and led her through the chilly white until he came to a stop. He came behind his wife, and slowly removed the piece of fabric from over his eyes.

"Thank god, I though I was gonna have to-" She started, but the view in front of her took her breath away. It was a fairly good sized pond, frozen over to create a beautiful blue and icy coating, lit up by the sunset light. It was surrounded by pine trees, and strung in them were different-and huge- ornaments and lanterns. Past the pond, in between two giant trees was a bonfire, crackling with life and flame. Lydia drew her hand up to her mouth, and felt two long arms snake around her stomach.

"Do you like it?" His voice prickled her skin, creating goosebumps on her neck.

"Stiles, I don't even know what to say. It's beautiful." She smiled, letting out a small laugh that could make the birds sing.

"Wait here one second, there's still one thing to grab." Stiles said, pressing a quick kiss into her cheek before running back and rummaging through the jeep. Within a second, he was back in front of Lydia, holding a pair of figure skates in one hand and regular skates in the other.

"You remembered?" She asked, grabbing the pair of skates from his hand, heart warming despite the freezing temperature. In high school, she was a pro at ice skating. He mother had her taking lessons at a very young age. Stiles always loved it when she skated, it made Lydia look like the angel she was.

"How could I forget? It's not very often your crush claims to see a man trapped under the ice. Trust me, there's none of that here." He flashed her a lopsided grin, before plopping down in the snow together to put on the skates.

"Well, my dear," he said, holding out a hand to her, "May I have this dance?"

-

They skated together for at least an hour, leaving a calligraphy of blade patterns in the ice. The sun was now dipping under the mountains, and the glow of the lanterns became stronger. Lydia and stiles lay cuddled up under a plaid blanket, enjoying the fire that lit up each others eyes.

"You know, it's getting kinda late. Party will be starting soon, and you're picky about what kinda champagne we get. Should we head back?" Stiles finally broke the silence.

"No, let's just stay here until it's dark. I'm enjoying just being with you." She turned to him with a warm smile lighting up her face. Stiles could swear that she was simply radiant at any time of day, just bringing a beautiful aura to any room she stepped in.

Lydia turned back to the fire and lay her head his shoulder. "Thank you for this. Holidays can be stressful, but you make it all worthwhile." She said, voice as smooth as the snow.

Stiles didn't reply, only standing up and pulling her up with him. He gently pulled at her chin, and leaned in until she could feel his hot breath on her cold cheeks. Until she felt a hand full of snow be thrown into her face.

"Stiles, I swear I'm gonna get you back!" She yelled, and he ran off giggling like a little kid. She scooped up a handful of snow in her glove-covered hands, and began to chase after him. As soon as Lydia came close enough, she tripped over her own feet and crashed into him, and they went tumbling into the snow as a little giggling mess of love.

"I caught you." She whispered breathlessly. She was on top of him, and they were both covered in snow, the powder dusting their cheeks and hair.

"That, you did, Lyds. You win this round." He smirked, and pushed a stray piece of hair out of his face. She leaned in, and placed a little snowy kiss to his red nose.

"I think we both win."
