It Happened

This year, the pack gathered at the McCall's for Thanksgiving, ready to witness Melissa's town famous dressing. The home was warm and light, a fire burning at the hearth. Glasses of eggnog were set on coasters, and close friends bonded on couches. It was peaceful and quiet, just what the pack needed. No supernatural business, no violence, no claws or teeth.

Lydia and Stiles walked through the door, holding sweet potato casserole, courtesy of Natalie.  "Hi everyone!" Lydia called happily, and everyone's heads turned toward the front door.

"Hey! There's our favorite detective team!" Scott jumped up from his spot next to Kira, and gave Stiles a hug. He grabbed the dish from Lydia's hands and carried it into the kitchen.

"Oh, yay! I love your sweet potato casserole!" Melissa scampered out of the kitchen and embraced Natalie.

Lydia and Stiles went and sat down on the couch together, him slinging an arm around his shoulders. No one noticed the careless action, except for Liam. He had a keen eye for little details, but nobody really understood that. They all thought he was just a little beta who got to angry during lacrosse.

Liam leaned over and tapped Kira and the shoulder. Her head perked up and turned to him. "It happened," He whispered.

While Ms. McCall and Ms. Martin were still busy in the kitchen preparing the food, all of the teens crowded around the T.V. to watch the Bills face off to the Chiefs. Foot ball was a tradition for Scott and Stiles on Thanksgiving Thursday, but soon enough, the whole pack was engulfed in the competition.

When the Chiefs made the winning score, the whole room cheered and shouted. Lydia and Stiles jumped up and hugged, and he picked her up and spun her around the room. Kira noticed. She leaned over and whispered in Malia's ear, "It happened,"

Melissa came in from the other room, and shook her head. "God, the Chiefs won?" Scott glanced at her and smiled. They had a little family rivalry going for the game.

"Yep! I knew they would come out on top," Scott laughed, and he and Liam high fived.

Later, everyone was seated at the dining table. John Stilinski joined them, after getting off of work. The table was small, so the group was packed together like sardines. Melissa gave all the teens champagne, much to Natalie's protest, but eventually she gave in. The food was being passed from person to person, and the pack was happy and at peace.

Lydia and Stiles sat together, sharing one glass of champagne. Malia noticed. She glanced beneath the table and saw their hands intwined together, fingers laced. When she passed the gravy to Melissa, she leaned in, "It happened," Malia whispered.

Next came John's bourbon pecan pie. Melissa dished it out to everyone, and they all groaned in happiness when they took the first bite. It was smooth and creamy, and delicious. Lydia got some whipped cream on her nose, and Stiles laughed at her. She pouted, and poked some onto his. They went into a whipped cream war, and in the end both looked like desert Indians with delicious war paint.

Melissa looked to her son, and mouthed "It happened,"

After everyone's stomach was packed with turkey and dressing, they all cuddled in the living room to watch Home Alone-a thanksgiving tradition for the McCall's. Stiles and Lydia squished into an armchair, her head buried underneath his chin. Scott noticed that when she giggled, Stiles' face lit up. Halfway through the movie, the two stood up and went to the back of the house. Scott glanced to the rest of the room, and whispered, "It happened."

Stiles and Lydia went out the door into the backyard, and the pack stood up and slowly crept to the window that looked into the grass.

"I'm so thankful for you," They heard Stiles say, before he took Lydia's face in his hands. She nodded, and he pulled her into a kiss.

"It happened!" Scott yelled, and the group began to shout and cheer. When Lydia pulled away, she looked to the window, and her face heated up. Stiles scratched the back of his head, and everyone else continued to celebrate. Finally, after the years and years of teasing, Stiles and Lydia were dating.
