Clace in High School

Chapter 12

Clary's POV

It was the Fairchild Manor. I couldn't believe it, the place where I was supposed to grow up. But it's been rebuilt, someone rebuilt it. The only person who knew how much this place meant to me was Jace.

"Jace did you do this for me?" I asked.

"Well yeah, seen as how once we are married we can't live at the institute I thought we would need a place and the Herondale manor isn't available I thought why not give our kids a chance at what you didn't get." Jace said as he walked me towards the front door.

"Jace you know you have come a long way from when I first met you, you know that right?" I stated with a reassuring tone.

"Well all of this was supposed to be a anniversary surprise, but then everything with Holly started. And well I just wanted to make people see that I am with you and only you." Jace said while staring into my eyes.

After we walked around the house, it was time to leave and I guess tell everyone one that we were going to be getting married. When we got back to the institute everyone was already asleep. So Jace and I went up stairs got ready for bed and fell asleep.

When I woke up I could smell pancakes. But who would be making pancakes that actually smelt good. It couldn't be Izzy, or Alec. The only person I know who can actually cook in this house is Marsye. But she's not here, she's in Idris. When I turn over to face Jace he wasn't there. Where could he be. So I got up and went to the kitchen.

"Hey has anyone seen Jace?" I asked before i saw who was in there.

"Yeah, I'm standing right here!" Jace said while apparently cooking.

"Wait, are you actually cooking?" I asked.

"Yes I am, actually cooking. It was supposed to be a surprise for you in bed" Jace said.

Once Jace finished making our breakfast we went into the library. After a few hours of studying Jace decided it was time to train me some more. We started with hand to hand combat training which Jace of course beat me in. Then we moved on to me learning how to do flips off of the beams with of course a harness on.

"Jace I can't do this!" I said from the beams.

"Yes you can just jump. Anyways if you do something wrong you won't get hurt you have the harness on" Jace yelled from below.

Before I could jump someone opened the training room door. Scaring me which made me fall off the beam towards the ground. Luckily for me I was wearing the harness, it caught me before I hit the ground. When I looked up to see who it was, I heard their voice.

"Well you two when were you guys going to tell the rest of us the good news?" Izzy asked sarcastically.
