"Jesus Christ." I mutter as I pace the waiting room.

I'm worried about fucking Andy. None of us have slept. Pancreatitis, what the hell is that anyways? I hate hearing her scream, it seems like it's going to be burned into my memory. Everyone is nearly asleep in those stupid waiting room chairs. I can't sleep or even sit. I should really be sleeping, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow.

I walk out front of the hospital where I know Rikki is. He leans against the brick wall smoking. I walk up beside him and he wraps his arm tightly around me.

"Worried?" He says and I nod.

"Beyond it." I admit.

"Have you eaten today?" Rikki asks and I rack my brain.

"I think so. The days kinda run together." I admit and he smiles.

"Come on, that's not a good enough answer." Rikki grabs my hand and pulls me back into the hospital.

We go to the little cafeteria and we get something to eat. It's like two o'clock in the morning, I'm not exactly sure why it's still open but it works.

"How do you feel today?" He wonders and I smile.

"Tired." I admit and he laughs. "We find out how far along I am at the doctors today."

"Yeah, you should go home and sleep. You're gonna need it." Rikki tells me and I shake my head. "Babe, I know you're worried about her but there's nothing we can do."

"I know but--" I get cut off by his smile.

"Remember when I said you're gonna have to start worrying about yourself?" He wonders and I scowl.

"I can't help worrying about her." I admit.

"We'll stay another hour then we're gonna go home and sleep." Rikki says as we get up.

"That's fair." I sigh and he laughs.

"Come on, let's go see how things are going." He says and we head back to the waiting room.

We sit around our group of sleeping friends, every once in a while we go in to check on Andy and CC. He looks like hell but I'm one to talk, I guess. Rikki puts his hand on my stomach again and rubs it.

"I think it's gonna be July." He says and I smile.

"Yeah, something like that." I say. "Then it'd be close to your birthday."

"Hey does your Nona know?" Luca speaks up.

"Nona moved back to Italy." I say and he nods.

"I mean does she know about Rikki and the marriage and the baby?" He wonders.

"Um, Rikki yes, marriage and baby no." I say and Luca smirks.

"She's gonna love that." Luca laughs. "You're very Catholic grandmother is gonna love that."

"Nona doesn't speak a word of English. It's not like she can cuss Rikki out." I smile at Rikki.

"Well she could in Italian." Luca says. "Then it would just sound pretty."

"We could call her." Rikki says and I nod.

"Yeah, if you want to." I say.

That's gonna be a whole other battle. I love my Nona but she's crazy and very religious and superstitious. When we were little she'd snap a wooden spoon on our skulls when we pissed her off. It didn't hurt as much as it bruised your pride. Her house was full of crucifixes and she went to mass every Sunday. After my mom died, she was completely broken and wasn't sure about men because of how my dad didn't let us see her much. Now her only granddaughter is married and pregnant within a two week span. She's gonna have a field day.
