"Gator, they're never going to remember this." Ray says and I scowl.
We're in Bama for everyone to meet little baby CeCe. I guess I should update everyone, my dad died earlier this year. He got to see his grandkids once, I'm happy for that but he's with my mama forever.
Is the 30th of June, my babies turn one today. Roxie sits in her high chair with her black hair in a little ponytail on top of her head, her green eyes studying everyone. I put Hunter beside his sister. His hazel eyes look up at me and he smiles.
"Mama!" He says and I smile. It's the only thing he can say and Rikki is kinda jealous.
"Hi Hunter." I smile down at him and kiss his head. Roxie scowls.
"No!" She nearly yells and Rikki smiles.
"Hi angel." He kisses her hair.
I look at Ray.
"It doesn't matter, it's their first birthday." I say and Rikki hugs me.
"Can you believe that it's been a year?" He says and I turn around in his grasp.
"We still love each other so we must be doing something right." I say and he smiles.
"I love you so much, Liss." Rikki says.
I go up on my toes to kiss him and Rikki is an asshole, he goes up on his toes so I can't reach him. I scowl and he kisses my forehead.
"I love you." I say and Bret groans.
"You're going to scar your children." He complains and Rikki kisses my neck.
I walk over to Andy, CC, and CeCe. CeCe is crying Andy hands her to me. She continues to punch CC making the little girl laugh. My god, Roxie liked the same thing.
We get set up to the twins to blow out candles on cupcakes. I hold Roxie back so she doesn't light herself on fire. I watch her try to blow out the candle making whistling noises. Hunter struggles and Rikki holds him back for the same reason. After that, we watch the twins smash the cupcakes and get icing all over their faces.
"Hey Liss, look at this." Carter calls after Rikki and I put the twins down for a nap.
He hands me two pictures. The first is black and white, it's my mama and I on my first birthday. My hair is in a little pony tail on top of my head and she holds me back while I try to blow out a candle. The second was taken earlier today, it's Roxie blowing out the candle and me holding her. Both my mother and I wear the old faded Yankees cap and the baby in both pictures look identical.
"Told you Roxie looks like you." Rikki says from behind me.
"No kidding." I admit.
My babies are a year old. Holy hell.
