My eyes open to bright white lights. I'm dead, gone to heav---wait. I definitely wouldn't be going to heaven. As my eyes adjust I see that I'm in a hospital room. I push myself and look around for the twins. No incubators, no nurses, no Rikki. What if something bad happened to them?I reach up and start tugging at the cords connecting me to several machines. The machines go ape shit.
"Jesus Christ!" I say as the door flys open.
Nurses walk in and I hear people freaking out.
"Is that Lissa's room?" Andy calls.
"Jesus! What went wrong now?" Bret or Bobby yells.
"Calm down. I'll go check." Rikki says.
Rikki comes in the door and smiles upon seeing me. He comes over and kisses my forehead then my lips.
"I missed your pretty green eyes." He says quietly and I smile. "I love you."
"I love you so much." I say as he sits on the bed. "Rikki what about the twins?" I wonder cautiously and he lights up.
"Perfect and loud, very loud so they have to be ours. Hunter was born at 2:47am and Roxie was born at 3:04am on June 30th 1989. They weigh about four pounds each. Baby, they are perfect." Rikki explains and I smile.
"I can't wait to see them." I admit. "How don't I remember any of this?" I laugh and so does Rikki.
"Because they knocked you out for most of it." He explains. "They were scared all three of you were going to die." I look at him confused.
"I don't remember this either." I admit.
"They way the twins were turned they weren't getting air and with how small you are they weren't sure if you could push them out." Rikki explains and I drop my eyes. He lifts up my chin and smiles. "But they're okay, everyone is okay. Well not everyone, Andy is freaking out because you weren't waking up and your family is stuck in Alabama."
"Shit, I have family don't I." I mutter and he laughs.
"Yeah you do, baby." Rikki says as the nurse rolls in two incubators.
They are rolled beside the bed and I see my babies all wrapped up in blue and pink blankets. The nurse hands me Hunter and Rikki picks up Roxie, she's gonna be a daddy's girl that's for sure. I hold hunter close to me and I look down at him. Little blond hairs stay close to his head and hazel coloured eyes look back up at me. It seems like a perfect mix of Rikki and I, green eyes mixed with brown. Hunter's hand wraps around my pinkie and Rikki sits down beside me with Roxie.
"This is your mama." He says softly and I look over to my daughter. "She's going to look like you, Liss."
He's right, Roxie had dark hair and bright green eyes.
"I feel sorry for her." I say and he laughs.
"She's lucky." Rikki smiles. "She's beautiful like her mama."
"Hunter is gonna be beautiful like you." I say and he smiles.
"Yeah, we make cute kids." Rikki smiles. "Let's have more!"
"Rikki." I complain. "Maybe eventually, I miss drinking."
"Say beer." Rikki laughs.
"Rikki Rockett, don't make me cuss you out in front of our kids." I laugh and he kisses my cheek.
"I love you to." I say as the door opens.
"We heard voices and assumed we could come in." Bret says and I smile. "Welcome back to the land of the living, we missed you." I flip him off.
"Never been flipped off by a mom before." He laughs.
We all talk for a while and Andy snaps pictures of Rikki and I. Before everyone leave to sleep which by the looks of it they haven't in a few hours. The nurse snaps a picture of all of us. Our family.
Four rock stars, a rugby player, a football player, a gay, and two babies.
What a family.
