XIV: Lost and Found

XIV:  Lost and Found

I had a dream last night.

Dice was here holding my hands making them feel warm. It felt good and just the touch of her hand makes me feel safe.

I tried opening my eyes. They felt tired and heavy like they were closed for a very long time.

"Rolf..?"

I heard a soft familiar voice whispering my name.

"Rolf?.. are you..waking up?"

I tried to open my eyes again. A familiar glimpse is on my face. She's caressing my hair.

It felt good. It felt like Dice's touch.

I opened my eyes wide adjusting to the blinding lights of the morning.

"Oh my god! you're awake Rolf.."

I roamed my eyes around.

"Hey baby.."

My mom.. she's crying hugging and kissing me. Still, I looked around.

"Hey Rolf.. welcome back.."

I saw Gena holding my hand now with tears in her eyes.

Confusion striked me when I found Dice nowhere the scene. I tried rising up but my body felt limp that I fell back in the bed.

"Gena please call the doctor.. Rolf's awake.."

My mom seemed excited with tears swelling up in her eyes. How long was I asleep? and why Dice is not here to welcome me back?

"Oh Rolf.. I'm so happy and relieved.. you are finally awake.."
Mom kissed my forehead a million times. Gena came back with the doctor to check me up.

"What...ha..ppened?" I asked with a hint of weakness in my voice.

"He is really back with stable vitals.." the doctor examined me thoroughly.

"Thank god you're back Rolf.. I missed you.." Gena said hugging me.

"Mom..? how long was..I'm..asleep?" I tried asking again.

"Rolf... it's been two months since you had a coma.. and thank god you're awake now.." mom cried again.

I was gone for two months? and Dice is not here? what happenend? is she mad or something?

"Dice..?" I asked sincerely.

Mom and Gena seemed to throw their eyes around not sure to answer me.

I mean I am happy to see them both..but I felt this longing for Dice..I guess.

"Where's Dice mom?" I asked again now attempting to  sit down but fell again.

"Do not rush yourself Rolf.." mom said looking worried.

"Gena..dear.. would you please leave us for a moment?"

Gena nod and left the room with the doctor leaving us the privacy.

"Rolf.. Dice is not here.."

"I can see that mom..can you please call her and tell her I'm already awake.." I demanded.

There's silence between mom and I. The ambiance felt awkward.

"Mom?"

"Dice..is gone Rolf.."
