Chapter 37

Hayes' POV
I was loving the moment right now. I had my beautiful girlfriend by my side. I wasn't sure if this was the right moment to tell her though. What if she gets too depressed?

"Babe." I said. "Yeah?"she asked. "I have something to tell you." I said. "W-What is it Hayes?" She said with her face getting nervous. "Don't get mad at me please. I didn't make this decision. My parents did. I'm leaving Carolina before we graduate." I told her. It felt a whole weigh leave my shoulder but then another one came. I was scared how she would react. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" She said. Tears were filling her eyes. "No please don't cry. They told me this 2 days ago. I wasn't sure when to tell you." I said. "Where are you leaving to?" She asked. "New York." I said.

At this point she was crying. All of a sudden, she wrapped her legs around me and hugged me hard. I'm gonna miss this really bad. "I'm gonna miss you Hayes. I'm gonna miss your laughs, your anger, your smile, your eyes, your...everything." She said. "Jane you're making this harder-" I said getting interrupted by her. "I remember when we went to Magcon here and we had broken up at the time. God I regret that." She said. "We should get going." I said. She nodded and grabbed my hand and went to the sand. We picked all of our belongings and left to the car.

We got inside the car and Jane turned on the radio and the song "My Way by Fetty Wap feat. Drake" was on.

"All I gotta do is put my mind to this shit. Cancel on my ex I put a line through that bitch." We both sang at the same time.

"This should be our song." I said. "Usually the songs couples have are love songs not R&B." She said. "Exactly! We're a unique couple." I said. She let out a small laugh. "When do you leave?" She asked. "1 week." I said. "Great. Just fucking great." She said acting sarcastic.

1 week later
Today was the day I didn't want to come. I was leaving the house I filmed most of my vines in, grew up, and had my childhood memories and I was leaving my girlfriend.

I then heard a knock on my door. "Come in." I said. "Hey it's me." She said. "So.." I said awkwardly. "What's gonna happen to us?" She asked. "I guess we only have one choice." I said. "So that's it. We're..done?" She said making that last one come out as a question. "Before you leave, I wanted to give you this." She said handing me a picture gram with the picture that Nash took when I first asked her out. "Just so you don't forget me." She said. "I actually have something to give you." I said. I pulled out a that said 'For whenever you're feeling...'. "It's a jar that has different things. For example, if you're ever feeling sad, just read one that has the sad in it and it'll say something I'll usually say so that you don't forget me." I said. "This will be handy." She said.

"Hayes we have to go." 8 year old Skylynn said. "Well this is it." I said. "I insisted in driving you guys so." She said. We went downstairs, and got on Jane's car.

We arrived at the airport we took everything out. "I'll see you guys in 5." I told my parents. "I'm really gonna miss you." She said. "So am I." I said my voice starting to sound like I'm about to cry. "Do you still have the envelope my dad gave you?" She asked. "Yep, I have it with me." I said. "What's it about?" She asked. "Starts with an 'M' ends with an 'E'." I said. "I love you Hayes." She said. "I love you too Jane." I said. "I have to go. My moms texting me." I said. "Bye." She said reluctantly.

While I was walking away, I felt her catching up to me. "Hayes wait." She said. She then smashed her lips against mine. "I'm glad I gave you a Second Chance." She said.
