You Choose: Distract The Wendigo

I act quickly, picking up a rock and throwing it at a tree. The Wendigo jerks its head in the direction of the tree for only a split second before returning it's stare straight at me. I smile.

"When I leave, run for the lodge, Josh... Just run, don't worry about me, worry about our friends!" I say. I wait and study the movements of the Wendigo. If my change my running pattern enough I may be able to beat it in time to get a weapon to protect myself. In the instance that I don't make it to safety in time, at least I can die knowing I saved my friends some spare time before they were ripped apart as well.

"C'mon you bitch!" I shout, making a run for it. I can hear the Wendigo's breath behind me as I turn and curve and dash in every which way, trying to dodge the most painful attack anyone could experience. I ignore your heavy breathing as I dash through the trees, back in the direction of the barn. I run in and slam the doors closed, quickly trying to barricade the doors and windows. I hear a screech and drop to the floor, hoping that if the can see through the window, it won't see me. I listen as the screech fades, quieter and quieter. I grab a machete off of the tool table and take the barricades off of the door.

I listen to the howling of the wind as I take each step slowly and cautiously. I wander down the trail and wonder if Josh made it in time. I hold the machete out in front of me, for defense. As the snow falls faster it blurs my vision a bit. I squint and continue to walk, seeing a small light in the distance.

I stand in front of the lodge and walk up the steps to the door. I open the door and find everyone against three Wendigos. I look at Mike and know exactly what he is thinking. I run over to a nook in the wall.

"Hey freak!! Over here!" I shout, then stand completely still. I look at Emily and she walks out of the lodge. One Wendigo goes to chase her but is tackled by the other creatures. I signal Matt and Jessica to leave. I kick one of the pipes on the fireplace and run back to my hiding spot. I nod at Sam. She leaves and Mike tosses me the gun. I nod at him, Chris, Ashley and Josh. I shoot the lightbulb on the wall and run for the exit. I press the light switch and the explosion shoves me out into the snow.

I sit up and wipe the frigid snow from my cheeks and hair. Josh runs over and hugs me. Mike smiles and nods, making me feel like I have done good. Everyone is safe. Everyone is alive. I see the helicopter. I have lived, I saved my friends, now the real question is if I should stay to protect others from the dangers of the Wendigos or leave and make sure Josh and everyone else is safe... *cough cough mostly Josh though*.
