I wake up on the ground, my hands and feet numb with cold. My arm is torn up and the Wendigo is nowhere to be found. I stand up and slowly stumble my way to the lodge. I walk down the path, constantly searching my surroundings. As I approach the lodge, I see everyone but Mike outside. Sam and Josh run over.
"Oh my god, Claire!!" Sam shouts. Josh just stares.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry... It's my fault, I shouldn't have left you." He whispers. The lodge suddenly explodes up into flames, Mike shooting from the entrance makes me realize I need to stay on the mountain, to defend innocent souls. Mike runs over to me after pulling himself off of the ground.
"Jesus Claire, oh my god what happened!?!" He says. I look around nervously. The helicopter flies over head and everyone loads on. Josh stops and turns to me. He holds out his hand and I shake my head.
"I'm sorry Josh, I can't go, I need to stay, to protect the others that venture up here. I love you, and I will miss you, it will kill me everyday, but this is where I need to be right now." I can see the tears on his face as he nods and slumps over to the helicopter. He climbs on and smiles weakly at me, saluting me as the helicopter raises in the air.
"And this is where it all begins..."
