Chapter Three; Slaying Sapphire

"So, Sapphire are you excited about going to Florida." Zach asked walking up to my desk with his group of friends.

"No, I'm just excited about not being in the same state as you for a month." I smiled, Valentine laughed shaking her head.

"Oh, so your not going to Florida?" Zach asked, glancing over at Sterling. Ugh, Sterling probably told him I was going to Florida.

"I am, wait are you going too?"

He nodded, smirking. "Looks like we will still be in the same state."

"Yeah, I know, I'm sad about that too." I mumbled waiting for him and his clique to leave.

"Oh, that sucks for you. Cause I'm actually happy about that."

"I know that you would be, you know trying to embarrass me all over again in a different state, does seem really fun. Well for you at least."

"Slay, Saph, slay." Quinn whispered, I laughed lightly.

"Yeah, well it sort of is fun." He smiled. I rolled my eyes, why do all the girls have a crush on him? Oh right, he's popular.

"Sort of?" I laughed, "if your getting bored trying to make my life a even more living hell then it already is, I recommend you getting a hobby."

"I don't need a hobby." Zach stated rolling his eyes.

"May I recommend something?" Quinn joined in, ignoring his comment.

"And what would that be, Quinn." Sterling asked his girlfriend.

"I recommend for Zach's new hobby is for him to either get a girlfriend, so he can annoy someone else besides my best friend."

"That's a great idea, Quinn." Valentine continued.

"But it will be really hard for him, to actually do." I added,

"Well yeah, no girl in their right mind would want to date someone like him."

"Someone like him, whatever do you mean?" Valentine gasped, mockingly. Zach and his friends continue to stand their listening to us.

"Someone annoying, Someone who is mean to people, bullies people, someone who-" Valentine cut me off,

"Oh right! That of course, how could I even forget those millions of reasons."

Valentine, Quinn, and I all turned to Zach with a smirk plastered on our faces.

"Maybe getting a girlfriend isn't a good recommendation for you." We said in sync.

"Yeah well, getting you a boyfriend isn't a good recommendation for you, either." One of his friends shot back. I didn't even know his name.

"Thanks I know, I am more of the loner type, then the dating one."

«

"So, Slaying Sapphire what do you have next?" Valentine asked. I laughed ever since I 'slayed' Zach Valentine, and Quinn have been calling me Slaying Sapphire.

"I have English."

Pandora grinned, "don't you mean, we have English."

"Yeah, whatever." I replied.

She smiled sadly.

"The poem thing is due today."

"I know, Mr. Kyle is making me present mine first."

Quinn and Valentine waved goodbye to us, before skipping their way to history.

«

"Miss. Barker you first."

I glanced down at my shoes, and started reading what I remembered writing.

"The darkness consumes me, haunts me, no escape, can't breath. Doesn't matter. Haunted, Haunted, this place is consuming. Not afraid, can't let them see, that I actually am." I read off my paper, the whole class clapped expect for Naomi Clark who was the biggest slut of the school, and also hated me.

"That didn't even rhyme!"

"A true poem doesn't have to rhyme..." Zach whispered a little too loudly.

"Exactly. A true poem doesn't Rhyme, Clark." Mr. Kyle repeated. I walked back to my seat next to Pandora.

"that was-" I cut her off,

"Terrible I know." I mumbled, resting my  head on my arm.

«

"Sapphire wait!" Valentine exclaimed, panting as she ran to my locker.

"Did you run all the way here from hallway B?" I asked in disbelief, we were in hallway D now.

"Yeah, um I was wondering if you would please please please go to the party I'm throwing tonight. I know short notice but please please please, I'll pick you up at 8?"

"Ugh, fine." I rolled my eyes, not having time to argue about going.

"Really?"

"Your going to make me go, either way, so what's the point?" I asked, laughing as she nodded.

"Who else is going?"

"Pandora, Quinn, Other people."

"You invited the whole school didn't you?" I complained, really wishing she didn't.

"Not the whole school." Val smiled innocently, "maybe just the whole grade."

And then she ran, knowing that I was going to say that I changed my mind and wasn't going to go to her party.

I sighed texting her that I wasn't going to go.

To Valentine 🙄❣

I just remembered can't go to your party! I have to feed my dog.

Not even a second layer she texted back.

From Valentine 🙄❣

Already asked mom if she could feed Winter so you don't have to!

I frowned trying to find another excuse.

To Valentine 🙄❣

To much homework...

Again it only took her a second to respond back.

From Valentine 🙄❣

You never do it anyways, why are you going to start now?

My frown was still on my face.

To Valentine 🙄❣

Your going to make me go, arn't you?

From Valentine 🙄❣

Pretty much.

Ugh! I hated parties, why did I even agree to this in the first place! Ugh, I'm so stupid.

I slammed my locker door but instead of it closing it flung right back at me and hit me. Ow!

Why does these things always seem to happen to me?

Instead of slamming my locker this time, I closed it gently and it actually worked this time...

I hate my locker!
