Chapter 19:
"He's so beautiful, Adam." the woman told her husband.

"Just like his mother." Adam replied.

The woman looked down at the sleeping baby in her arms and saw something.

"Adam, what's this?"

The husband looked at his son and saw what his wife was looking at: a small tattoo-like birthmark on the baby's collarbone. It was strange. It looked like it hadn't fully developed yet, but you could barely make out that it was something in the shape of a heart.

"I have no idea, maybe it will fade away."

"If it doesn't, we should get it looked out."

"Let's not worry about it. Let's just worry about a name."

"What the hell is this?" the Fairy shouted at her friend, who had helped deliver the child.

"I have no idea." the friend replied.

"Why does my child have a tattoo on her? She was just born!"

"I can't explain that. I have no magic."

"We must search the books. This-this thing needs to come off."

-
"Gastons!" Mal called.

"Mal, well, it's been a while, hasn't it?" one of the boys said.

"I guess."

"So, what's up?" the other one asked awkwardly.

"I need you two to help me with something."

"And that would be?"

"Something big. Something royal." the purple-haired girl smirked.

-
"Please continue." Ben told the Fairy Godmother.

"A very long time ago, before you, me, and the kingdom, there was a girl with purple hair and green eyes..."

"Mal?" Jay interrupted.

The fairy shook her head. "No, Mal's grandmother. She was fairy, and at that time, fairies were being hunted down by an evil sorcerer. They were being turned into dreadful creatures. She was hiding in a witch's cottage..."

Bertha was huddled in the corner of the cellar. It was dark and very damp, the perfect environment for many insects.

The witch came down three times a day to deliver food but hadn't spoken to Bertha since the girl had asked to hide there.

She was a peculiar old woman and looked like the stereotypical witch with the warts, crooked nose, and almost green skin.

"Child?" Bertha heard a creepy voice say.

She looked to the doorway of the cellar and saw the witch.

The old woman walked towards her and motioned for the girl to stand up.

Bertha did as she was told, and the witch stopped in front of her.

"I can sense that the sorcerer's army is almost here." the woman said.

The girl's eyes widened.

"I must tell you something very important before they get here."

Bertha nodded.

"How old are you child?"

"Thirteen."

"A half a century from now, there will be an extraordinary baby girl and boy born. One will be of your family and one will be of another. It is imperative that they bond together. You will be turned evil by the Sorcerer, that is inevitable, but you must make sure that the bond be created." the witch explained.

"How can I do that?"

"You have magic in your veins. Cite this spell." The woman pulled a piece of parchment out of her pocket and headed it to Bertha.

The purple-haired girl read it over. "What if I can't do this? This spell must be for the most advanced of the fairies! I'm barely into training. What if I fail?"

"Then we will all be doomed. It is up to you, Bertha."

"So Mal's grandmother created a bond between Mal and Ben?" Evie asked.

"Yes, it was very powerful, and can't be broken." Fairy Godmother replied.

"What became of Bertha?" Dracul questioned.

FG looked down. "A couple moments after she casted the spell, the Sorcerer's army captured her. She was brought to him and turned evil. Ten years later, she had Maleficent, and you know what happened to Maleficent."

The group nodded.

"Why did Mal and I have to be bonded?" Ben asked.

"Only the witch knows. Bertha didn't even know. But I know that it brought you two together."

"Wait, Ben. What is that?" Evie exclaimed and pointed at his chest.

"What?"

Evie stepped closer and pulled a part of the King's shirt down.

"What the..."

So were you expecting that?

It wasn't Mal in the last chapter! It was Bertha, Mal's grandmother.

I guess we know where Maleficent got "Bertha."

So there are two questions today.

QOTC #1: What do you think Evie was pointing at?

QOTC #2: What do you think Mal's planning?

SOTC: Riot by Rascal Flatts

I got to see them in concert 10-23-15 and it was awesome!
