Chapter 20:
"Ben, is that...a tattoo?" Evie asked the King.

"That's not just a tattoo," Carlos started.

"That's a tattoo of Mal's emblem." Jay finished.

Sure enough, it was the Dragon Heart etched prominently in Ben's skin. He had never noticed it before. How could he not?

"Your parents came to me a couple weeks after your birth to get rid of it. Of course, I couldn't completely remove it; it's a casualty of the bond. Mal will discover it soon, but it won't be of a dragon..."

"It will be of a beast." the young king said for her.

-
Mal, the Gastons, and a couple of riffraff she had acquired on her trek back to Bargain Castle were sat in front of a map of the island.

The people that she had no recollection of stared at her often as if trying to figure her out. It made Mal uncomfortable.

"Look away you maggots." the girl snapped.

They slowly looked elsewhere and stared off into space.

"So what are we doing, Mal?" one of the Gastons asked.

"The first part of the plan is to lure that ignorant Prince here, or King, whatever the hell he is." Mal replied.

"What about after that?"

"We'll get to it. But first, we have to get 'King Benjamin' here."

Just saying his name sent sparks up her spine.

What the hell? she asked herself.

She put her hand on the desk in front of her.

"Something wrong?" a girl asked, who Mal recognized as one of the Tremaines.

"Nope, I'm good." the purple-haired girl lied. "Everyone, meeting dismissed."

Everyone nodded and walked out of the room.

As soon as they were gone, Mal started pacing. She looked out of her window, which was a bad idea, and saw the tattered poster of the Royals.

She stopped pacing and sat at her bay window. She stared at the poster.

Their smiling faces saying, "Good this" and "Good that," infuriated her. Their blue eyes that held love for each other that her family never had.

Her green eyes swept over the remains of the poster and was meet with the breathtaking blue eyes of young King Benjamin.

The sparks that had escalated before were at their peak now as those blue orbs bore into her own. Something on her chest stared burning moderately.

She applied pressure to the spot and broke her gaze from that of the old piece of parchment.

What were these sparks? Why were they there? And what is that burning?

Mal walked over to her mirror and slowly removed her leather jacket. She pulled the sleeve of her purple tee shirt down and gasped.

On her collarbone was...

She ran over to the window and looked at the poster. On the corner, there was a crest. The main part of it was on her neck.

There was a beast on her neck.

Hello people of Wal...Wattpad! Yep, totally wasn't going to make a lame reference to a vital YouTube video.

Nevermind I was.

So I just need to tell y'all that this story is almost over. 😭😭😭😭

All that's left of the story is:
Mal's complete plan
Effect of the Plan
Epic ending
Epilogue

I'm very sad, but I will be making a sequel and a Melcul story!
