You sighed as you wrapped your dark haired friends arm with bandages. Ignoring her hisses of pain and protest. Sharp deep red eyes glaring at you.
"Don't complain maybe if you had listened to me and hadn't gone out this wouldn't have happened." You told her finally letting her arm go. "What did you expect a job's a job (L/N)." You took this time to shoot her a dirty look. "Yeah and what good is that money if you die huh? Damn it Zatsune why don't you ever think?"
The young women stood up and went to her room with out another word slamming the door behind her. You sighed looking sadly at the door.
This life wasn't easy you knew that.
Hell it wasn't legal. But what were you supposed to do?
You and Zatsune grew up in very different yet similar situations. Her coming from a well off family but never good enough for them. Never as good as 'Miku'.
You came from a broken family with broken morals. A drunk mother and no father you never had anyone to trust or relay on.
When you were about thirteen when you ran away from home. Tired, hungry, and no where to go you were taken in by a gang of sorts. This group called them selves the fanloids. Here it was were you learned how to fight and unfortunately kill. But mercenary work never was for you so you learned medicine to help the others if injured.
Zatsune on the other hand had no trouble getting her hands dirty. It was funny how different you two yet how close you were. You were kind and thought things through while she was rash and rude. But there is one thing you can't stand about her.
She's willing to do anything to get a job done, and it scared you. She was always coming home with injures and never seemed bothered by it. "A job's a job" she says. Well you've had enough. Enough of never having enough money for food. Enough of having to patch up the people you care about. Enough of turning a blind eye to muders. Enough of this life, and as much as it destroyed you to say enough of her.
So you made up your mind.
You were leaving tonight.
Hours later you looked up at the small clock hanging on the wall.
2:30
Zatsune should be asleep by now. Quietly you snuck into your shared bedroom. You went to the closet and gathered all of your clothes before stuffing them into a duffle bag. Looking over your shoulder you saw Zatsune past out on top of the blankets.
You moved to the side of the bed and gently pulled the sheets out from under her and covered her body. Sitting on the edge you lifted her head so that you could remove her pigtails. Sighing you ran your figures through her hair for what you thought was the last time.
Biting back the tears that now threaten to fall you leaned down and gave her one last kiss before standing up and leaving the room. Before you walked out the door you whispered one last sentence.
"Goodbye, I love you"
(Time skip)
The sun picked through the shades pouring light into the dark bedroom. A young women reached her arms out to the other side of the bed to find something missing. Deep red eyes open to the sight of a darker colder room. One with you.
