Meiko sat at a booth in her favorite bar drinking, and for once was silent. Happy birthday to me she thought bitterly swallowing another mouth full of sake. It was was November 5th Meiko's eleventh birthday. And so far it hasn't been a very good day.
Not one of them remembered Meiko chuckled dryly not a single one. She glared down at her now empty cup as if trying to will more Sake to appear. Sighing she slumped against the table hiding her face in her hands. Fighting back the tears. Meiko was one of the oldest Vocaloids and apparently it was starting to show.
"What a slut"
"Her voice is soo robotic"
"Meiko is really out of date why can't she sound as clear as Miku"Don't get her wrong Meiko wasn't jealous of anyone. She was proud to say she helped look after the younger Vocaloids, but things have changed. The others grew up and became popular. They didn't need her help anymore.
To be honest that's what Meiko feared most was to not be needed. And it was starting to feel like that more and more, even Kaito the boy who she felt was her little brother since she could remember was growing apart from her.
"Meiko?" A soft voice called. Meiko quickly looked up to see a female bartender with (h/c) pulled back in a pony tail. "(Y/N)?" Meiko asked slightly in shock. "I thought you were off this weekend." You smiled "I was but I decided to take on an extra shift." The brunette frowned "you could have asked me if you needed some money."
You giggled nervously and shook your head. "I couldn't ask that of you" you spoke. You sat down across from her. Meiko raised a brow. You shrugged "shifts almost over anyway." You saw that she was oddly out of alcohol. "You need some more?"
She sighed and shook her head. You had a look of shock. "I'm drunk enough as it is I should probably head home." Your eyes widen, "uh, please stay I haven't gotten to see you in forever!" You said. Meiko rolled her eyes "we went out a few days ago" she told you flatly.
You sighed in defeat "Alright but I'm taking you home you shouldn't drive." Meiko have a look of indifference.
Time skip
After an hour of driving (which Meiko questioned since she lived only thirty minutes away) you to finally pulled into the Vocaloid mansion. Meiko hesitated about heading inside. You smiled and turned to face her as she was staring out the front windshield.
"You know," you began "everyone isn't as forgetful as you think. And with that you got out of the car and headed to the door. A confused brunette close behind.
As you and Meiko stepped into the dark living room the lights suddenly flipped on.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEIKO!" many voices called out. Meiko stood in shock. "You guys remembered?" She mumbled.
Kaito smiled a nodded as Miku lunched her self on Meiko. Luka smirked from the other side of the room. "You didn't think we actually forgot did you?"
You hugged Meiko from behind, "sorry I didn't tell you they made me promise not to." Meiko turned around and hugged you tightly. "Thank you (Y/N)" she whisper on the verge of tears. With a small giggled you placed a short sweet kiss on her lips. "Happy birthday Meiko."
Super short and late but I've been busy I hope you like it. HAPPY ELEVENTH BIRTHDAY MEIKO
