All thanks to @MusicDragonSlayer21 for this beautiful idea.
Thank you hun!!

You always seemed to have a knack for getting yourself into situations you didn't want to be in. Like right now.

Your FBI partner and best friend, Seeley Booth is sitting next to you, gun impatiently being tapped against his thigh as he waits for the signal they need from Doctor Brennan to come out.

"Booth... Can you please stop that?" You hiss at him. He knows you have an intolerance for constant, annoying noises and he thinks it's cute when you scrunch your face up in annoyance.

Of course, he would never admit that to you.

"Y/N, you need to exercise your tolerance-."
"Yeah, like that bloody noise is going to help me." You hit your head on the headrest and hear Booth chuckle beside you. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Booth smile and stop the constant gun tapping. Only for Doctor Brennan to come running out the building.

"Ok.. Let's go." The two of you launch out of the car, guns loaded and the safety off.

"You really should let me have a gun." Brennan said before diving into the car. You smirk and open your mouth to say something but bullets still flying from the attacker.

"Come on, Y/N!" He yelled as you ducked behind a car. You looked up the multi-storey building, trying to figure out where the gun shots came from.

"Booth! 5th floor!" You yell and both of you moved as if one person. This was why you were put as partners.

You both made it to the abandoned lobby and went for the elevator which was surprisingly, still in working order.

You both stand in it, panting for breathe as the elevator rises to the fifth floor.

"Don't get shot, okay?"
"Okay. But you don't get shot either." You both agree but you know that it is inevitable that you'll get shot at.You always seem to get clipped when you go on things like this.

When the elevator doors opened, you both go separate ways. Booth took the left side and you took the right, guns ready to shoot at the first sigh of resistance or trouble.

Swinging into every stall, you were happy to declare them empty.

Well, empty into a searing pain ripped through your left shoulder.

"Ah!" You scream as you hit the floor. You've dropped your gun and are holding the wound in your shoulder, red dots in your vision. But it wasn't just red dots.
It was blood.

You try and move backwards but the man who had shot you from behind moved forward and put a foot on your leg, stopping you from moving back. Blood pumped through your fingers and you felt slightly weaker.

"Your a coward, Hossin." You mange to mutter through the pain.

"How am I a coward, sweet cheeks?"
"Shot me in the back." You feel a tear roll down your cheek from the pain. Hossin sighed and cocked his gun, aiming right at your head.

"Well I'll just have to end the job as a not coward then." Before he could even put his finger on the trigger, his body was riddled with bullets. You cry out as the pressure is released from your leg but the blood continued to pour for. Your shoulder.

Before you blacked out, Booths face came into view.

"It's all my fault." He whispered before you faded into a sea of unconsciousness.

**************

You wake up to the irritating and constant sound of a heart monitor that was beeping along, letting the doctors know you were very much alive.

"Doesn't that bloody thing have a mute button?" You mutter as you try and push yourself up. The moment you try and use your left hand though, you falter and pain seats through the shoulder joint.

"Y/N?" You see Booth staring at you, wide eyed and red rimmed, a cup of coffee in his hand and his head on the wall.

"That coffee better be for me." You joke. Booth stares at you like you were raised from the dead.

"I am so sorry, Y/N. Do you remember what happened?"
"Yeah, I got shot.."
"And it's all my fault."
"How the hell is it your fault, Booth?"
"Because I suggested that we split up while there was a mad maniac in the building. Had we stuck together I could of stopped him and you wouldn't be here right now." You raise an eyebrow at him.

"Booth-" You try to interrupt again but he kept going.

"Seeley..." You again, try. It didn't work as he kept rambling about how he should've been there to protect you.

Then, an idea sparks in you. With your right hand, you grab his tie and pull his face to yours and press your lips to his, shutting him up. You'd always wanted to do this but never thought of when. This just seemed perfect.

"It wasn't your fault, Booth. I make that choice to put myself in danger every time I go into the field." You say when you pull a way. Booth is staring at you intensely.

"Okay."
"What?"
"I'll shut up. But only if you meant that kiss seriously." You smile and press your lips to his again, feeling like you were on cloud nine.
