Seeing is believing

Chap 1

I sat up, panting with cold sweat clinging to my back. My tiny, five year old body shivered violently at the flashbacks of the nightmare. I slowly slid out of the white sheets of my bed. My cream, long nightgown swung around my ankles as I paddled out of my room. I snuffled and held my own body continued to quiver as I walked. I found the closed door to the front room which daddy and mommy occupied. I could hear father's voice along with mother's quite giggles. I stood on my tip toes as I reached for the door knob. I twisted it and cautiously pushed it open. I saw my parents attention immediately be caught by the opening door. I bit my lip as mommy sighed and daddy look me up and down." The nightmare again?" He asked in concern . I feebly nodded. He sighed before starting up and walked over. He smiled and picked me up. He held my body on the side of his hip tightly. " come on, let's get you to bed." I nuzzled into his shoulder silently as he carried me back to my room. I felt my soft bed again as daddy slowly lowered me down. He tucked me in but sat on the edge of my bed. He brushes my ink black hair off my forehead and continued to stroke my dark locks. " what happened in your dream sweetie?" I nibble my tiny bottom lip, starting at him. I closed my eyes as the memories I had been trying to block out came back. Tears formed in my shut eyes and threatened to spill. Daddy noticed this."hey, hey! I get it, you don't want to talk about it. Maybe tomorrow morning at breakfast?" I nodded as he flashed one last smile before leaving me in the darkness of my bed room.
