Seeing is believing

Chap 9

I screamed before jumping away, landing roughly on my ass. I tried to scuttle away as the creature's eyes started. The rustling got louder, making me gasp. I was coming closer. I stopped still and cowered away as whatever was hiding lunged at me.  I was trembling waiting to be torn to shreds. "Meow." I opened my eyes and peered through the fingers of hand I had shielded my face with. A sleek black cat with a white patch on it's nose started up at me with a tilted head. I sighed in relief as I relaxed, my hands supporting my sitting body. The beautiful animal proceeded towards me cautiously, sniffing the air. I held out my hand with a smile and began clicking my tongue. "Here kitty, I'm not going hurt you." Somewhat assured, it took a few brave steps and sniffed my hand. It paused before flicking it's tiny, pink tongue over my skin. I giggled and began rubbing behind it's ears. It purred before prancing over to my now crouching legs. It rubbed itself around my clothed shins as I petted it, it's noises of delight making me smile. "You're so gorgeous, aren't you?" It suddenly pounced away, only a few feet. It stared up at me with it's stunning blue eyes with a crooked neck. Then it bared it's teeth into a smile! I gasped before once again, falling on my ass in fear. The cat was now wriggling violently, then it suddenly stood on it's hind legs! It appearing. The luscious cat hair was being replaced with a patchy, black velvet material. My mouth hung open and my eyes were wide, I couldn't even scream as I witnessed this. The cat vanished completely, and in it's place was an extremely tall man dressed in a black suit a fancy, dust white shirt secured with a tie. He held a simple, straight black cane with both hands which crush a tiny patch of grass below. Upon his head lay a black top hat, a halo among his luscious raven locks. Those same blue eyes shine bright along with that crooked smile......
