You were asleep soundly in Rocky's arms when a sudden noise woke you. The sound of footsteps pitter pattered down the hall towards your bedroom door. "Incoming," Rocky yawned as he rubbed your back. "In three, two, one..." Right on cue, the door swung open and your five-year-old son came running towards the bed. You couldn't help but laugh as he climbed up and on top of both of you. "Mornin', buddy," Rocky chuckled.

"It's not time to wake up yet," you said sweetly as you kissed your child's forehead.

"It's my first day of kindergarten, mommy," Ryan said excitedly. "I need to get ready."

"You're growing up too fast," Rocky sighed. "Stop growing! Stay my little guy forever!"

"I agree," you laughed, hugging both of your favorite boys. "Who's going to help you get ready this morning?"

"Daddy!" he insisted, tossing the fluffy comforter off of the both of you and tugging at Rocky's arm.

Rocky gave you a quick kiss before giving into his song, rolling out of bed and following him down the hall to his bedroom. He didn't have time to get dressed himself for he had feared his son would explode if he had to wait any longer. "So for today's ensemble," Rocky goofed around in a fancy voice that made Ryan giggle. "I was thinking we could pair the light teal shirt with this pair of khaki shorts. Does that please you, Prince Ryan?"

"That'll do, daddy," the little boy tried to copy his dad's accent.

"Excellent," Rocky laughed. He started to help his son undress when little hands pushed him away.

"Dad, I'm in Kindergarten now," Ryan groaned. "I can get dressed by myself."

"Alright, alright." He threw his hands up in surrender as the kid pulled on his clothes with ease. "Next stop: the kitchen!" Rocky picked him up and threw him over his shoulder as he made his way back down the hallway towards the kitchen. In the hallway, you ran into them, tousling the hair on both of their heads before going into the bathroom for your morning shower.

"Want some eggs?" Rocky offered the boy, setting him down at the table. "You'll need the protein. Helps the brain grow." He had no idea if that was actually true, but he was going to stand by that statement.

"Will you put cheese in it like mommy does?"

Rocky whisked some eggs and cheese together, putting it in the frying pan and the sound of sizzling filled the room. You joined your family at the table for a delicious meal and some conversation.

"So, baby, what are you looking forward to most at school?" you ask as you shove a fork full of warm eggs into your mouth.

"PLaying outside with friends, " your son answers automatically, not even needing time to think. That was the typical answer, but you and Rocky had been trying hard to get him excited about the sole purpose of school: learning

"You'll get to learn how to read this year," Rocky said, his free arm draping around your shoulder as he sipped his coffee. "That's pretty cool. Then you can read me and mommy bedtime stories!"

"Noooo," was the little guys response as he giggled at the notion. He pushed his plate away. "When do we go?" he asked anxiously.

"Go brush your teeth. Then we can go," you replied He ran to the bathroom. "You, sir," you said, turning to Rocky. "Go get some clothes on." He nodded and got up to put the dishes in the sink. "I love you, muffin!" you call after him as he disappears down the hall.

In less than a minute, Rocky returned fully dressed with his hair pulled back. "I love you," he smiled, leaning in to kiss you.

"Eww," Ryan groaned, covering his eyes at the sight of his parents. "I'm ready. Let's go."

Rocky handed him a Scooby Doo backpack and held the door open for the two of you. After everyone was situated in the car, he started the engine and drove off.

At the school, Ryan held both yours and Rocky's hand, walking down the hallway towards his classroom. You helped him hang up his belongings on his hook before he eagerly ran to lay with the other boys and girls.

You and Rocky walked back to the parking lot, holding hands loosely. "I can't believe he's a kindergartener," you sigh.

"I can. He told us a billion times today," Rocky joked with a grin. You playfully slap his chest before climbing into the car. After he joins you, you rest your head on his shoulder. "We are going to have the house to ourselves all day," Rocky said. "You know what that means?"
"We can try for baby number two?" you giggled.

"Hell yeah," he smirked, putting the car into drive. You had a busy day ahead of you.
