It was prom night. I didn't even want to go. But I had to.
My dress was tightly formed around my body, yet it was my exact size. That made me cringe.
My mother helped me do some of my make up.
I did a high cat eye with some light skin color eye shadow. I was surprised that this person hadn't sent me make up instructions. But I felt that this would do. For some reason though, I felt as though I had to impress them. I needed to prove that....I was good enough.

I buckled up my high heels before walking out the door.
"You still haven't told me about this boy." My mom whispers as fixes my bra strap stuck under my dress.
"Um. Oh. Just some football guy. You wouldn't know him." I respond.
"Fine. But be back by 12:00. I swear Taylor." She looks into my eyes then smiles. "Have fun."

Mae drove with me to prom. She still didn't know who I was going with. She thought it was completely weird and that I should just ditch him.
"Relax." I said to her as we walked out of her jeep.
We begin to walk towards the entrance. There are big snowflakes and icicles hanging across the gym door. The loud Fetty Wap meets our ears as soon as we walk in. I hear Mae yell to one of her other friends. And she races off.
Leaving me alone in the middle of the floor.

Where are you? I look around the dance floor but just see familiar faces grinding on each other.
Then I saw someone. A man. About my age, maybe a year older. Yeah. Probably a year older. He had dark, dark chocolate hair. And I was sure his eyes were also dark brown. His jawline was exact in the light. He had his hands in his pockets and a small smile across his face. He had a clean cut suit. As I stood there observing him, he started to walk towards me. Once he reached me, he linked his arm into mine.
He reached up and moved a light curl that was in my eye behind my ear.
"You look beautiful my Diamond." He whispered into my ear.
He comes closer and kisses me on the cheek right below my ear.
